Added too much nitro into my flowering fertilizer , my girl was 3 weeks into flower, but due to the extra nitro the buds shot up around 6 inches, and are now back to flower. Will everything be ok besides later harvest? I think I might have airy buds because of this, but a larger harvest :)
 
It almost sounds like the normal elongation of the main stem at the beginning of flowering. I give my plants full N the 1st 2 weeks of flowering to prevent early N deficiency and they run fine. Depending on the strain, some plants elongate short and others WAY big. I don't think it's a big deal either way....
 
No N after 2 weeks of flower.....no way, no how.....you can't prevent the stretch, it is what it is genetically......just my opinion.
 
Pics would help but sounds normal to me, always cut way back on nitrogen during flower and start using 1 tsp of molases per gallon when feeding but no more than once a week so if you water three times a week only put the molases in one time. You will be fine, they go through giant growth spurts when you are in the first few weeks of flower. The leaves would burn before you harm the buds.
 
They need nitrogen all the way thru their lives, but as said above, less after the first few weeks of flowering. Nitrogen does not mess up the flowering process, flowering is dependent on light cycle. You just need to read the plant and give it the food it craves for whatever cycle its in.
 
This is wayy more stretching than last year thats for sure, and this strain is usually done end of aug but doesnt look like she will be done till mid sept, which i think is from too much nitro, i can see the single bladed re veg growth on buds.
 
Thankyou, cause of this extra nitro, i have a cola that is 18" of white hairs, itll be a very nice donkey tail once its done maturing :)
 
You'll know if you added too much Nitrogen if the buds become leafy, which you'll really notice at some point. I think you're fine....... FYI, my normal process is to continue fertilizing the same as my veg schedule the 1st 2 weeks of flowering, then the next two weeks I do a 50/50 split of veg/flower nutes (I use Botanicare products) and then after a month, a full flower routine. I find if I don't give the plants a lot of N early in flowering, they show deficiencies way too early in flowering and the plants health declines too rapidly for full resin production. Of course, overall flowering time and the strain type come in to play too.......as does light intensity, temps of room, etc.
 
i actually lol'd when i read the original post.... its totally normal for this stretch to occur. chill. smoke a doobie er somthin:weed:
 
Ummm i know what the stretch is, this is my forth time growing. This isnt the normal stretch, this plant did its stretch months ago and is covered in crystally buds, and did a second stretch half way through flowering.
 
Almost sounds like the plants are reaching for light..........maybe cloudy or rainy weather or poor placement for enough sun????
 
Not a new strain, and exact same place as they were grew previous years and ive never seen this, this year i did plant in sheep manure though with more organic top dressing 8-4-5

Your plants are already covered in crystally buds? Indica dom strains? Where do you live?
My sativas are just barely starting to flower
