Fruit Flies... how to kill?

I've been battling some fruit flies on this first sprout of some bag seed I got started for a friend and I've gotten an infestation of fruit flies which appear to be laying there eggs in the soil. I've removed the plant and replanted in different soil and moved it to another house altogether but they came back.
How do I get rid of them? :?:joint:

Help would be greatly appreciated.

lol, i had them too, they would fly all over in my room and shit,i have mastered the technique of killing fruit flies, i killed so many of them...

what got rid of em for me was constantly killing them for 2 weeks and then having a fan on in the grow room, like put a decent size fast fan and i aimed it straight at the pot level so the air would go all along the ground hit the walls and just go everywhere, and few days later they were gone.. just from wind

but other specific methods idk

Cool thanks... I just started trying that earlier today. Usually I have a fan going but I started this next grow after moving and haven't set everything up yet. My laziness catching up with me lol...

yeah they are so tiny they will get blown the fuck out of the place with a decent amount of air circulation

I want to make sure I get rid of them b/c I'm about to start my skunkxhaze grow.
The plant they're bothering right now is bag seed I was trying to get started for a buddy to grow, but since he killed the last seedling I started and gave him, we decided I should keep this one and then pass along some of the harvest I usually share with him anyway lol...

get a sticky fly catcher..or use peroxide i think it gets rid of pests..but the fly trap is garenteed to work..i use them all the time

- sticky fly tape
- cut up a few peaces of fresh frute (pineapple works awsome) , cover the bowl with plastic wrap poke some small holes into it and when they get into it they can't get back out

Does anyone know what type of damage they do to plants? What I noticed is they appeared to be eating the newest leaves because they seemed to be discolored and mishapen when they were coming out?

I made sure there was a fan on them since i put them in the soil. also no-damp solution seems to keep the soil sterile

you can make a DYI fruit fly trap. its fucking ez.

get a short cup, maybe 8-9 inches. make a funnel, and mix a solution of vinegar/sugar and put the solution in the cup. place the paper funnel on top of the cup, and walah!

Fruit flies love that shit. they will fly in through the funnel and get stuck up in there.

the end.

ps. clear cups make the best traps so you can see the buggers.

Yes I also had fruit flies on a new grow. I put the sticky fly catcher up and theyre gone. That stuff works really well and you dont have to change them in forever. They are cheap as fuck too.

Go with the no-pest strips, they're not the expensive, have the best success and this way you also dont have rotting fruit in a place where you're trying to remove the flies.
Also put a layer 1"-2" of sand on top of your soil, it makes laying eggs there a real bitch.

a small bowl of water with a little dish soap will kill fruit flies.the soap is slippery and they die in the water.

or just leave a glass of water out cuz when I go to sleep and I wake up I always have a fruit fly in my water

I agree. The strips are very effective.
