what up peoples? ive been researching growing, for a few years now n wanna go to school 4 botany because of it. i was once in school 4 cpu n electrical eng, so i feel accurate when i say if u dont know how to cut corners b4 u get there, u will b4 u leave. regardless if ur paying or not. thus i pondered on how to get the absolutely lowest cost 4 a grow. i have compiled a list of places n avg prices of objects thought to be useful in any size grow...

buy some seeds and plant em outdoors, thats the lowest cost option
 
1st off dont go take a payday loan out or try n save 4 months salary for a grow. i found it cheaper to buy 4 the stage of growth ur in as opposed to getting EVERYTHING at once, which imoo looks extremely suspect n the point is not to right? 2nd PATIENCE! not only is this every growers most valuable asset it helps in purchases. i started my biggest plant outside n gathered up a list of what i needed while it grew naturally 4 a couple wks. when i finally went to buy the equip i got great deals..
 
Actually you should have aeverything you need for an entire grow before you even start as you will need to have grow areas setup tested and ready for the stages.If you can not buy all at once buy what you can in phases but do not grow until you have everything you will need on hand. Nothing worst then to be ready for phase 2 but not have the needed switched equiptment or find now you have to rehang lights over 2-3 foot plants
 
i was able to cop 46w (or 56 cant remember ] cfls 4 .98 at walmart went back to get more 2 days later, 10 dollars a pop! if i aint shyt a brick when i saw that. onto da list...lights-u can find em cheap at home depot, lowes, and damn near any home repair store. they come in single 4 bout 2dollars cheaper when on sale, ur best bet though would b the 3 n 4 packs that run between 4 n 8 dollars. there are bigger better lights but ill leave that to the experts. pots/medium- i have seen a lot of..
 
Yeah, growing weed has me thinking about going to school to become a botanist or a horticulturist. Too bad i'll be to busy getting high and growing to concentrate on school.
 
soils n other mediums, im using soil so i will speak on such. i went to the dollar store few wks ago n found MG potting soil, cost me 1 dollar for 2 4qt bags. u can slide to walmart n get it at 3 or 4 beans. ur local dollar store should have some but u get what u pay for les u get a deal like i did. dont slack here, ur medium is important apparently in this sort of thing. ima do some more research 2day to finish up this thread
 
i can dig that and completely agree, but i experienced success buying in stages due to the fact funds were not like that for me to purchase all at once. i mean i was growing and didnt see the reason to invest in food and nutes when i jus started germing, and all i had was a few dollars to spare in prep 4 my grows. if feasible, by all means purchase all u need at once but if not at least consider this info. n snitchin is at a all time high people are dumb not remedial sum know what u doin...
 
i stand corrected, jus plantin seeds is da cheapest way. now all u gotta do is be patient n way til fall, n shoot anything that comes close to ur plants. or u can get a dub buy some equip n do the indoor jumpoff. if access to a unsupervised field or u have cool neighbors go head do it pimpin. i have neither, n i know there is people that share the same boat. for them i do this plus i feel knowledge thats held onto dies wit the holder, if shared it lives 4ever. imoo. thanks 4 da insight u all
 
No cloning someone else's plant is the cheapest way. And research some more MG soil has been found to have a problem with bugs.

We have another expert giving us advice. Guess I have no idea what I have been doing. Thank heavens someone is here to help me.

Just kidding, but if your going to spend the time with a write up such as this, at least spend the time and put some proper spelling/grammar. There is a little spellcheck button in the post editor. I had to almost re-read everything twice to understand it! Us old farts dont understand the new lingo =)
 
I can not stress this enough and I'm sure I have tons of back on this statement. DO NOT USE HARMFUL/LETHAL DEVICES TO SECURE YOUR PLOT!! You know how the cops look at that? "These marijuana growers use bear traps, sawed off shotguns with tripwires, etc to protect their crop" That looks really bad on the cannabis community. Don't do it. There's a thing called camouflage. Use the native brush to your ability. I am aware that cannabis doesn't blend in with 90% of forests. Sh*t happens. I've heard of people use infrared systems that take pictures and/or start recording video when an object of particular size/temperature enters the vicinity. It won't help too much theft-wise but you can see if there's cops scoping your plot so you know just to lay low and forget about it, its gone. Some people use alarms connected to tripwires. These cause great amounts of attention but if you set them low enough to scare the person, they'll run. But please follow the Golden Outdoor Rule. Be creative and be safe.
 
not an expert, (well maybe in other things in life) jus sharing my experience to the super novice/budget friendly. n im on a cellular phone typing/textin, no spellchecker jus number mashin. i consider myself 2 b a pretty common dude that relate to people, & feel people relate to. jus tryin to assist somebody somewhere. ur word choice reminds me of an ol staff sergeant i knew n look up to. ay this is u alls niche, didnt mean to offend if did. good look though on all the knowledge spread.

i concur. im a veteran that believes jus b/c u own a weapon doesnt mean authorization to use. avoid conflict to gain profit. MOB? it was an extreme example. ill attempt to tighten up my lingo to find a happy medium but if i concentrate too hard on how to say what i wanna the point will be lost, guaranteed. its like a bad side effect of my thought process. i digress, didnt mean to contaminate the forums wit my noob scent. lol. jus burnt 1 i mean smoked. mind me asking age, or too personal?
 
no excuse 4 bad grammar but an explanation. if i had a smartphone/pda that would be nice. thats also why i am not able to post pics, and im not sure how to map to my phone. man i jus took a gander at ur # of posts, man yall either got a lot of shyt to talk or a ridiculous amount of weed wisdom. lol but i dig this site n its admin/experts. respect
 
This subject really pisses me off. I don't care if you are using a chisel to etch your posts in stone. If you advocate using violence to protect weed you are making the marijuana community look bad.

If people get mad at me for this so be it. I feel strongly about this subject for personal reasons.

Most are mellow stoners who just want to be left alone. If you grow outside and off your property and it's discovered you write it off and do a better job of camo next time. That's called life.
