so I've been hearing many controversial stories about when to use cfl then having to switch to another light source , which is making me a bit sad , that I'm doing cfl ,only . the question is has anyone actually used em all the way till harvest ? Any pics of how ur guys plants turned out purely on em ? Bud pics and shit , feeling a bit bummed out

Why people are still using CFLs in 2018 baffles me.

A19 bulbs(Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) with the diffusers removed stomp all over CFLs. If you can afford CFLs, you can afford A19s.

CFLs are literally one of the most inefficient light sources available to growers. I'm actually surprised that this subforum still exists.

Small slotted screw driver. Work around the base of the diffuser, prying it upwards. The glue holding it starts to loosen and stretch, then it'll come off. It takes a minute or two per bulb.

The Ecosmart bulbs Home Depot carries have diffusers that can be removed, but I have bought A19s in the past(can't remember what kind) that I couldn't get the diffusers off without a Dremel.

Get the 100 watt equivalent. They only use 15 watts. They come in 5000K(veg) and 2700K(flower) spectrums.

There are a few people over in the LED sub forum who are using them from start to finish.

On You Tube there was a couple of guys growing with CFL's. Blake and somebody. They did pretty good for what they had to work with.
