From Hps To Led

Thanks for the video. I'm going to have to watch it multiple times to take it in. So from what I understand for a 4x4 area I would need a 480watt led. 16 total square feet multiplied by 30 watts per square feet. 480. But, I want to look at what it's actually pulling as opposed to the name. So the King 900 watt grow light that is actually pulling 450-500watts should be fine. Correct me if I'm wrong or if I've misunderstood. Again thanks for the video.
 
Go for some cxa3050 or 3070s. U have to do a little diy your self, but if u dont mind that, u will be very happy
 
LED's... cuz who needs big frosty buds anyhow....

If you are gonna do it, make your own CXA build, like kkmmbb1 says, everything else is a waste, just there to sucker people who dont deeply investigate, and shop based on boxes and labels....

Keep in mind, dropping from that AC voltage to that little LED...... dozens of times over.... still makes a decent amount of heat....

IMO, if u can afford a decent LED setup, you can save money and buy a chiller or A/C unit n keep the HPS, if not bump it up a size...

(If u really got the money, look into CMH bulbs, you get the color brightness and save on heat!)
 
Thanks everyone again. Alot to take into consideration. I'm looking to cool down a 4x4 yet. I have a 6" inline exhausting my tube hood. But due to where my tent is it is still reaching into the mid 90s zipped up and 85 unzipped.
 
Quick update.... during summer run light during the night instead of the day........ simple solution that I should of known.
 
I was having the same problem... shell out a couple hundred on an ac and you'll be golden

I run my 18 over night and my 6 hours off are in the middle of the day, but i was still having heat issues so it might not be a total cure... but I'm running a 600w
 
I just went with the standard 8000 BTU from lowes! i think it was 280$

I keep it pointed towards the door to my grow and works perfectly, and cools down my room!
 
Thanks again everyone for the replies and advice. Seems quite a few people where I'm from have heat issues when using the tents. Also thinking about just going back to the visqueen 2x4s grow room. Seems to run alot cooler.
