I went from bubbleponics (which you wouldn't believe what I used) to a hydrobed, and the difference between growth and quantities. When I 1st started out I was using 1/2 gal milk jugs and lime rock gravel right off the gravel road I live on. Yes, I rinsed them off, and I grew some fairly good size babies. I grew like this for 5 years and about 4 months ago I built a hydrobed like I've never seen before - my own design. And it's puttin out babies almost 3 times the size of my bubleponic babies. I started out buying seeds and I finally found 3 the I am really pleased with: White Widow, Thai and Carmalious. Now all I do is cut clones and grow. When I first started growin I always heards that you can only cut so many clones and they become less potent, don't believe that garbage. If anything, they get bigger and better. At least mine have. There's only 1 thing I'm not happy with, I can only have so big of a hydrobed due to the room size. My room size is 11'x10' and the only room left is walkin room. I bought a killer air pump that feeds them plenty of o2 and I've tried several different hydro juices and I stuck with Vertigro w/ Nitrogen 15-0-0. I bought a pond liner and a roll of plastic to go under the liner.
I'm using 400 watt lights on a light mover rail and It works great. I bought 2-4x8 sheets of 2" styrofoam for my floater, cut holes in it foe my 3" net pots and bee cuzz cubes and added a drip system to it and wala- excellent grow setup. Just about everything I've bought for my setup came for ebay. My peat cubes and starter trays come from walmart. I get 12 babies per 2'x4' panel. Yes, they grow just fine. I have 2 rooms, 1 veggin and 1 flowerin and I have 2 hydrobeds in flowerin so I get a harvest every month. It don't matter what size grow room you have you can implement my setup in any space.
