Fresh Banana Kush Clones

This is my second go around at taking clones off my Banana Kush mother. I have had her for a few months and she started getting really thick, so I had to thin her out before flowering, and invest into next time.
Here is my (noob?) method:
First I got everything together (Fresh blades, Rootech Cloning Gel, Dome/Tray, Spray Bottles...)
I flushed her a few days ago and foliar fed just water every day the past few days, to ensure nitrogen is leached out. I sprayed her down with water just prior to cloning too.

I cut at 45 degree angles, scarred up the bottom/ split the bottom, then immediately into the rooting gel.
I put them into the inserts (filled with Roots Organic soil, well soaked and packed medium) They stayed up just fine with a little pressure after inserting. Then I cut off the bigger fan leaves, and cut the smaller fan leaves in half.
I have heard that leaving them in the dark for 12 hours to recover from shock is a good idea, so that is where they are now, and will go back under 24/0 CFL's until rooted.
My first run at this I had a success rate around 25%, and I am hoping to get at least 50% this time. Unfortunately I don't have a heat mat for the tray, but the room stays around 75-80 anyway.

On a side note, I want to flower soon, but I am concerned about two things. First is I live in an apartment, but I am a legal medical patient and can have up to 12. The reason I am concerned is the smell. I want to get a Can Filter 2600, but would that be enough to control the smell from a 35" plant in a walkin closet? The second is the heat, with my 1000w HPS on and air cooled hood, the room stays 85-90 degrees. Is this heat going to be too much without CO2, and will the heat make the smell worse and the filter work less?

I really should start a grow journal, but I am just too busy :( Please feel free to comment on my stuff so far though

I put them back under the light after about 5-6 hours mostly because I didn't want to forget them before bed ;)
They are looking like much better cuttings then last time, so I have high hopes!

Looks good. My friend after doing it 3 or 4 times started getting a better feel for it and his success rose to over 75% Keep it up
Oh, ya I do love that Banana Kush
