I have seen a lot of threads dealing with frost late in flower. Whats the consensus on spring time frost vs plants. I have some in a green house. current temps outdoor are 36F 100% humidity. no rain no wind. Inside was 48F using mr heater big buddy and a little buddy. I have a small 14' by 10' by 12' green house. A couple weeks ago it froze 27f and shit died no heater. This is spring but my plants were 4 foot tall or better and still died. I seen some threads saying late in flower is fine but you are close to harvest so the plant is going to die either way. I should probably get them inside for today huh? In 1934 it was 104f at this time of year here wow! Everything outside is covered in frost.

yeah, that early spring frost is a killer all right, usually last frost day around here is end of May. I've jumped the gun a few times being fooled by those balmy 70F days and got my ass kicked when it dropped to low 30's. course all my stuff is guerrilla out in the middle of nowhere.

When i was outdoors i was only doin sativas.
Landrace sativas, flowering 22 weeks avg.. I grew year round in the midland-odessa area in tx, perpetual like with different ages .... they've survived 100+days of over 100 degree weather and they've survived 4in of snow. (most we've ever had) they make it fine in the low 20s for short periods(lowest we expect to hit) even babies. but we average 30-40s in the day and I've never lost a plant from temps....
that's my 2 cents

I'm about 1500 miles north east of you.

Ummm.
Thats whats up, ive always wanted to go up north..

But my geographic location doesnt effect my experience with cold temps and seedlings, obviously i dont get as cold. But was just giving my observations

@Dr.Pecker .....Your a few MI miles North of me I understand (SW area around the Gun lake casino somewhere for me)....

Yeah man, they don't like cold at the frost level in veg at all.....some of my personal outdoor stash stuff can actually take a good frost and continue.....Like you said though, their late bloom and they seem tough as nails then.
I will allow young ones of just topped and around that size to sit out to 39/40 at night,,,,but NO less as I feel it helps them harden some....
Below that. your risking damage too much. I don't let seedling size get below 50 till 5 nodes.....

Did you have your plants outside in 2011? One of our hottest years on record. I literally lost 20 pounds that year. The a/c went out in the car I had. Long story, I had ptsd from air bags.

Don't you miss Midland?

Lol that year was shit. Over in the midland-odessa region we went 12months without a measurable amount of rain fall.

And yes i did.. grew outdoors for idk 12years until early early 2013 when i moved mostly indoors

Oh how I remember! It was over 100 degrees for days and days, months even. The humidity was 99% blowing in from the coast.

Everything seems to be taking it well even the smaller clones. I lost a few fans but for the most part they did good last night.. We have one more frost advisory tonight then its looking like we're warming up. If I didn't have a heater I would be sol

i am not calling you a bullshitter but .... low 20's come on set your plant any plant even my hardy ass durban crosses are not ok below 27* with a stiff wind ... just my.02 ... he showed you whats up now yousay try another strain?? lol is it still plant tissue?
sidenote plants in the earth do better . and days with NO breeze better . running sprinkler during freeze can save them too...but nothing lives below 20 nothin that i cash crop anyway...

Huh?
I was giving my experience of strain and temps.
Btw it can get vey windy in West tx-no such thing as trees lol. I have hundreds of wind turbines on my land

He didnt show me anything nor did i say try another strain. That was my first post in the thread and a post in and of itself. Where i describe the area temp and strain. Nowhere did i say all could do that and attempt to generalize something, i told directly what my experience was in. Those are night time temps and the lowest we expect to hit... i always grew in ground and often planted in groups- protects the plants

Now you say nothing lives below 20 that you cash crop. I dont "cash crop" i go for the highest quality and most unique smoke possible

I kept it 48f in the greenhouse outside temps were 34. Everything was buttoned down went to sleep woke up temps were 110f so I vented. I think 46is the low tonight. I'm leaving everything vented and open.
