Free seeds?

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any experience emailing or calling seed banks for free sample seeds. I heard someone say on here some seed banks will send samples hoping you'll be a regular customer. I was just wondering where you might have gotten them if it worked. Let me know how it went. Thanks!

I think it'd be better if you went to the events, met the breeders, developed a reputation as a reliable grower first. Dudes aren't just going to give you beans because you ask nicely.

It's more about who you know than what you know.

I haven't heard of that, however many places you can buy seeds will throw in 'freebies' with your order, and that is pretty common, and something people talk about a bit ("hey, has anyone grown these freebies from UbErSeEdBaNkNuMbEr1?")
