Ok here we go, I have been fighting powdery mildew for quite some time. I have done alot of reading and trial and error! I have a shitload of fans in my rooms, but there are only so many plugs that you can tap into before running out or blowing a circut. So here is what I have tried and I will tell you what will work! I know alot of you guys will just say "keep your conditions right and you wont have a problem" but the problem is that some growers can't afford all the bells and whistles so this is a way to fix it withought buying one thing!
What didn't work! for a cure.
I built a sulfur burner- worked but pain in the ass to run it while plants were sleeping cus my plants sleep when I do. Mildew came back in less than a week!
Baking soda and soapy water- Slowed it down but came back.
Store bought spays- Slowed it down but always came back.
Bought a de-humidifier- I still run it in my rooms and my humidity ranges from 39-43% and the shit still came back! Slower but still came back.
Bought more fans- Like I said you can only plug in so many things! And also I don't want half of my grow space filled with fans!
The way I recomend and know it works is Heat treatment! I read on the internet that molds and mildew start to die off around 90 degrees and if you can run your room up to 100 and hold it for 1 hr it will kill it all off! So I have been doing this for about 3 weeks and I can tell you guys I have gotten rid of 100% of my Powdery mildew in my rooms and on my plants! This does cause a stretch in the flowering plants that are in week 2-3 of flowering acording to the internet but that is the only "side effect". And if you think about it outdoor growers down in California experiance temps over 100 all the time!
What I do is during the day I will water my ladies first, then I take the glass out of my enclosed hoods. Unplug your exaust fan/fans and watch your temps grow to 100, maintain that temp for an hour and plug your fans back in! DONE! I do it twice a week, but you can do it once if ya like and see if that works for you, it takes me about 1.5-2 hrs each time and no more PM!
The pro's is that you use no chemicals "bud rot" "nasty to smoke", you can do it anytime your lights are on, no risk of fire with a "home made" sulfur burner, It's FREE, and no real risk to your plants! If you talk about stress think about the stress from spraying them all the time, burning sulfur, and simple stress of the plants constantly having PM on them! I am sure that all those stress the plant out more than 100 degrees for an hour a week!
Cons?????? Stretch in plants that are 2-3 weeks into flower..........
Like I said I have been doing this for 3 weeks and it has worked like a charm for me! To all the really experianced guys on RIU please explain to me any other side effects if any doing it this way, I don't want to put out bad info.
I know this works and I hope that this can help some others fighting the same thing I was. It is easy to do and free so hope this helps you all! Even if you just use this method till you can get the money together to buy all the shit you need to run the perfect grow room!

I run 2 1k watt HPS in my flower room that is 8X5X7 and I have a de-humidifier running in there 24/7, 8 circ fans and two 440 CFM exaust fans, one for each closed hood.
I think that about covers it RIU'ers, I hope this helps you guys get rid of the bastard PM! Please feel free to post any other ideas that WORK to get rid of PM, or if there is anything that I am missing here please advise. Not shit you heard works cus I like many other people on here are tired of trying shit that you think works!
