foxtailing

This is strain Belladonna. I grew out one seed, cloned it and flowered out those clones 3 times now. Each time it foxtailed more. I will let this die out and start with a new seed . I have 4 different strains in a 3x3 in 3 to 5 gallon pots, I have a dimmible 600 watt hps and a mars reflector in the tent. Soil. I can get a better pic in an hour or so. Thoughts?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but all my buds have that foxtail shape too. This is a bad thing?

These look great. Harvest time man. Let them go too long and any strain will "foxtail"

Fox tailing is caused either by too much light or light leak,but has long has there not whispy and stacked tails don't worry,mine do it all the time,crowning it can also be a sign there coming to a end.

A friend of mine sold his fox-tailed bud as a new strain. :lol:

Many Sativa and Sativa heavy cross's BUT, not "any".......Foxtailing can be an indicator of being done or very close to it......I agree with mopar on yours - They look done - trichs are?

Foxtailing can be caused by heat and high N......I feel the page is still open on light leaks! I've had plenty over the years, and never had foxtailing due to it! Falls more towards someone saying so because they didn't know why their strain did it!

yeah, i have run 4 strains in that tent, this is the only one that does this. trichs are not showing amber like they should, Im shooting for saturday to finish it. could be over lit. I will start with a different seed, same strain. i cant get a decent pic, my cheap cam wont focus. This one doesnt look as frosty as her older clone

There are strains that basically don't amber either! Those are done! Everything else on them says so but, it won't hurt to go to Saturday if you like...

like i said, ive run this 3 times now, clones. trust me, they are not how i want them to be. they do best about 70 days from flip, these were 6/11. its been a little warmer this run, but nothing absurd. now im kinda intrigued how a new seed grows out, different pheno and all that. i live in a cabin, i am on the " 60 day and done" plan right now, will be shut down by mid oct

What kind of temps do you have? During mid-summer I have temp problems (topping out around 85 mid-day) and I will start getting foxtails.

It gets up around 80 and I run central a/c when it's hot which has been so far this year most of this summer. My 440 cfm inline exhaust fan had shit the bed so I am using a smaller fan to pull off the heat from my 600w and LEDs ....too much light? That sounds ridiculous to me. A new inline is on the way but will take a few days to get here. My soil is also super rich in N but I still fail to see how the Xmas tree shaped buds are not good...they are heavily trichomed and smell amazing. Are rounder shaped buds more potent or something? Tried uploading a pic but guess I've used up monthly data already & they've slowed my network speed to a crawl. I'll throw up a pic when I can.

Ok well after reading several threads from different sites including RIU I have determined that my plants are not foxtailing they are just growing as normal. This is a conflicting issue for many growers and nobody seems like it us detrimental to their end product. Seems like a non issue even for those who think they know their buds are foxtailing. Thanks for the link

yeah, I just found it interesting. Im sure its genetic, this is a clone, of a clone, and its more prevalent, so Im guessing environmental factors affect the foxtailing. its got a couple days, if one gets long enough to dry and get a paper around.....

who took what down? The plant is at 68 days in 12/12, it will be done this weekend. Its alive and well and still growing tails...
