well, i used it for a while and my one plant grew nice then didnt do anything for about a week and it burnt my other plant so i switched to a CFL and it's working better. plants look alot healthier. I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything better for it before i put it away

If you're on a low budget, CFL's work pretty good. I have two plants under 3 CFL's and a 24" floro which are putting out around 8,100 lumens. I am 2 weeks into flowering and moving at a desirable pace. Two of my CFL's are (2700K) one is (6500k) and the 24" Floro is a (2700K) bulb.

the blue spectrum plant lights are good during vegetative because of the increased blue spectrum, they work really well when they are just breaking the surface. Threy do get hot though, so they shouldn't be too close to the plant without dierct top air flow.

ay, i remember those blue grow lights....i used to have 6 of those stupid things, now i have one and its in my basement too, and well, for all i care it can stay there, they get way too hot, you're better off with the CFL's vegging with the blue ones(6500k) and flowering with the soft white(2700k), those plant lamps i think were designed for more of showcasing the plants you have than growing, burned the shit outta anything i put under them....just my input....go with cfl, if you want cool lights, if you can deal with the heat, and you've got great venting, you can probably find a good use for those grow lights....mine is being used as a paper weight tho, and that's as good as it gets.
