YREKA, Calif.—The Siskiyou County district attorney's office says a former Mount Shasta city councilwoman will serve 210 days in jail for selling marijuana to an undercover sheriff's deputy posing as a student.

The 42-year-old Katrina Howard pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of marijuana for sale with the special allegation of being armed with a firearm. She got a suspended 68-month prison sentence last week.

Howard was among over 30 people arrested in an investigation into drug sales at area high schools in 2008. Police said they found 34 pounds of processed marijuana in Howard's house.

Howard will face 1,000 hours of community service and a five-year probation.
