For my Hydro System...

I'm told that I should water my plants at least 3 times a day, which if I were to set it on a timer that would be every 8 hours,
but how long should I water my babies during that period of time?

im using hydroton pebbles and i really dont have a growth method im using cept 18 hours of light and 6 hours of night

Are you flooding from the bottom or dripping from the top? If you're flodding (ebb & flow) then you could start with 3 or 4 times when the lights are on. You could drip constantly. Post up some pics of your setup or tell us what kind of system you are using... and I don't wanna hear about light schedules either.

I was guna drip and flood at the same time, just keep the bottom flooded and drip every other hour

oh i c lol no im guna just drip not flood
Hi All.
I thought it was an auto pot, but its a pumped system is'nt it? Going off the dripper rings on top of the media.
Just be carefull you don't give them too much, I'm not sure what the pot bottoms are like, but it looks like they are not in any kind off drip/run off tray, that goes back to tank, so if you drip too much will it stay in the bottom of each individual pot?
Do they employ a gold or copper plate in the bottoms (to inhibit root growth any farther down, if so make sure the run off level stays below this.
You do NOT want the roots submerged in any run off for long at all, or they will rot.
Make sure that any smaller less developed plants, (who will not be using as much) are not sat in run off.
I myself prefer a recycling type system, where unless something goes wrong overwatering is much harder to acomplish.
Next time m8, you can do everyone a favour, (including yourself), by giving proper details of your system, what you intend to do, and/or what you want to achieve.
More piccies always helps too.
The less guesswork one has to employ, the better the answers you are likely to get.
Tatty Bye.

yea it is going off the dripper rings through an air pump system that pushes the water up to the rings from the 2 gals that sit at the bottom, cause my system is the type that it just pushes the water to the individual grow cubes and when the water evaporates the crontroller takes water from the resivoir (how ever you spell it) and fills the cubes to a specific height. im just not sure on how long/ many times a day i run the dripper since that is the only way to water the plants

Try letting it drip 24/7 and if the leaves start to look droopy, cut it back to 15 minutes every 3 hours. Once the roots grow into the res you may not have to drip at all or just stick with 15 minutes every 3 hours.
