I have found a dehydrator with a thermostat that has a lowest setting of 85f,does anyone have any exp with these for drying the buds?

A food dehydrated is fine for "drying" buds, but not for curing them. When curing your buds, the object is to make it take as long as possible for you buds to dry. I would put a couple of buds in the dehydrator just to sample the product, but I wouldn't put your whole load in there.

I havent bought it and i was just wondering if anyone had tested it out on weed or not.
I had looked at some cheaper ones before but they all blew to hot imo.
The unit in question was an Excalibur and was expensive 229 pounds,so i wont be getting one anyway.
If i ever do make use a bud dryer i think i will make my own:eyesmoke:

The lowest temp that one goes to though is 95f,i was under the impression that the lower the temp the better, let me know what results you get please and whether you think you've lost any buzz drying at that temp:eyesmoke:

I know riss0r tried it with some water cured, couldn't give you a good report though because he just didn't like the water cure no matter what. I think he just dried them normally after that.

I still haven't found a method that beats hanging the buds from string in a box. Get enough bud in there and it takes ages for it to dry.

Ye i have no interest in water curing, really i was just looking for a fast dryer for putting small amounts in when i run out of good bud so at least i have something to smoke in between times.
I think i may give making my own a go as these dryers seem to be real expensive for good ones and i dont trust the cheap ones:lol:

Silica gel can work quite well for small amounts, it dries it faster although you do need a reasonable amount in comparison to the bud.

You have any kind of pic you can post of that set up?

Do you have a dehumidifier and fan with it?

What do you do, put a coat hanger or across the box and hang the string from it?

Thanks.
