Fog experiment.

HI peoples

I'm going to experiment and attempt a full fogponics grow.

here is what I've come up with so far after a root thru the cellar at work and a bit of a pilfer from a building site rubbish skip.

any help, pointers etc will be helpful.

Looks good I sure hope it works out. You know the plants will be ultra sensitive to dry spells right? what water cycle you going to use? 24/7?

By the way.. what kinda fan you got there? Specs, brand etc. I may wana try this myself

water cycle I have yet to figure out, I have a hermie clone that I can try it out with first so I can watch it over a couple of days and tune it.

the fan is a 100mm bathroom extractor, didn't have a brand (we just had them fitted in the hotel I work at so they got a bulk lot) it just states on the fitting instructions 'fully sealed from jets of water in all directions, no need to worry about humidity'

too small of micron will not get nutes and water to the whole root zone, it will be hella dense!!!

use fogging as a supplemental device, not stand alone.....

I have to second that. It will not work. I posted a very in depth grow that someone did on another forum. It sounds like a great idea, the problem is as Loud said, there is not enough moisture getting to the roots of a large growing plant. (And we are talking in the Veg stage. Forget flower)

Fogging root systems will not work by itself. Save yourself the effort of a failed experiment. You might get away with combining the Fog and the misters that Filthy Fletch uses, but not fog all by itself.

so for a 4 plant set up what do we recommend pump capacity wise, is 1400ltr/hour good enough? what timings should I have it on?

you just need the right tool for the job..none of the cheap floating shit.

thats why I designed my little project.

As for water issues, what about stainless steel netpots (could modify a cutlery drainer) these are naturally cold so will cause the fog to condense around them and then drip all over the roots.

I WANT ONE! That would be so cool for foliar feeding my plants their bloom additives... Or maybe not. Can't decide whether it would make the buds all moldy. Probably. Now I'm sad.

be great in veg tho and for humidity if its dry where you are.

all that really doesnt matter when the rootzone is so fucking thick that not even fog will penetrate the root zone!!!!

people....i've said it once, ill say it again....... DO NOT USE FOGGERS STANDALONE....you will spend up ALOT OF MONEY TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK...it will not work all by itself.....USE AS SUPPLEMENTAL!!!!!!

Maybe it works. I'm like you though, I would think you would need a hydrid dwc or something with it. Maybe it's only run a real low nutrient level and kind of like you said use the fogger as a supplement. This is bordering aero though IMO.

although i do not like the fogging technique from birth to harvest....

fogging is almost perfect for cloning!!!!!!!!!

p.s. no nutes, additives, supplements when adding to the fogger res for clones.

nutes and all that will clog the fogger!!!

well fog is supposed to be a division of aero!


Nutramist even know the fogger wont work thru-out the lifespan of the plants....

i blv this is why they make ebb n flow with supplemental fogging systems!!!

Are you talking out of your ass or do you use that from start to finish? If you have completed a grow using that nutramist then post the picks to prove it.

Otherwise don't start quoting vendor advertisement as truth.

I don't believe you have seen that take a plant from seed to flower...I am calling you out on this Redrum.
