Also, one leaf looks half eating :S how often should i water, twice a day to much?

also the plants are vegging under 4 , 4 foot floro's how far form the plants should they be

when i saw flys around my plants i spray raid on the bottom of the floor & the next day no more flies =D my plant was still good tho

The wilting could be from over watering... picture please...

You can hang some of those yellow sticky sheets around the room to catch the flies.. i am assuming they are not normal cow flies.. they are the small gnat type flies.. correct?

Bro, your problem is most likely your problem, they should never need to be watered twice a day. i'd do yourself a favor and invest in a moisture meter, only a few bucks.

roger that, will do thanks alot for the input guys

just the soil seems so dry but i guess it should be like that :S moisture meter is on the way.

Water toroughly... and then let the soil dry... if you have a plant in a 3 galon container and you water with 1/2 to 1 gallon of water per watering, you should onlyneed to water every 5-10 days in 74 degree temperatures...

cheers

don't water until they start to wilt. see how long it takes them to wilt. then next time water just before wilting occurs. this will change as the plant grows. allowing the plant to wilt will also cause your roots to seek moisture making them stronger. i try to let all my plants show signs of slight wilting before watering.

thanks alot for the input guys youve all been a great help. i was a bit worried because i will be out of town for 2 days but the way you guys are talking it will be fine.

Dio, mother loving Dio. I hadn't thought of that guy in forever! Way off topic, but I can't help it...

You've been down too long in the midnight sea
Oh what's becoming of me

Ride the tiger
You can see his stripes but you know he's clean
Oh don't you see what I mean

Gotta get away
Holy Diver

Shiny diamonds
Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue
Something is coming for you

Race for the morning
You can hide in the sun 'till you see the light
Oh we will pray it's all right

Gotta get away-get away

Between the velvet lies
There's a truth that's hard as steel
The vision never dies
Life's a never ending wheel

Holy Diver
You're the star of the masquerade
No need to look so afraid

Jump on the tiger
You can feel his heart but you know he's mean
Some light can never be seen

get one of those fly stickypads and catch all the flys if you think their laying eggs shake the plant.

Well from the sounds of it the sticky traps arent working?

First things first: Clean your house (once you get rid of them you want them to stay gone right?)

A trick to dealing with fungus gnats I've heard from mushroom cultivation is sevindust. Anyone think this'll help out our buddy here? Sevindust is supposed to shred the larvae as they pass through the soil killing them in a most unpleasant manner.

Id figure that getting rid of the young would be your best bet in the case of an infestation. Focus your efforts on the soil and continue to shake the leaves to keep them off. I've also heard chili pepper kills larvae (also check garlic treatments)

Finally if you get rid of the soil buggers and the adults wont go away let loose some lady bugs... just a few should be enough. Quite voracious eaters those ladybugs.

Hanging the yelllow sticky fly pads arund your room should significantly reduce the fly problem.. Hang several of them..

cheers
