Flushing Technique--No reply in Noob section; I'll try here

Don't need to now, but probably will--flushing. I've read two gallons of water per gallon of soil. What do you do, put the pot in the shower? How do you deal with run-off? If you have four containers with four gallons of soil each, that's . . . 32 gallons of water, ph'ed. How do you manage such volume? What, do you ph a drum? Generally, how long before you start watering again after the bath?

Also, as long as I've got your attention. I have a pretty tight 3 X 5 X 5 cabinet lit by a 400 w MH conversion bulb (at the moment; I'll switch to HPS later). The temp is stable at 81.5 using a 80 CFM inline duct fan. When the time is ripe (along with big buds, hopefully), I'll need to filter the air. I plan to use the design illustrated in the noob FAQ, the one that uses the carbon, wrap around, Honeywell filter. If I connect the filter to the vent (still using the 80 CFM), will I be able to keep the temp. within the guidelines.

Thanks much.

Flush 3 times the size of your pot. I usually fill up a bucket/bin type thing and pour it in the pot over a bucket. The water is tap water set out for 24 hours.

I acctually put them in the bath tub and run them under the tap till water flows out of the bottem. I wait till the water is clear, wait 10 mins and flush again. By doing the two step flush, it disolves the salts during the first flush and gets rid of them during the second flush. this is the best way. although most people will argue with me cause I use water straight out of my tap. I water all my plant with untreated tap water directly out of the tap. I have never had any probs at all

So if I have a 3 gallon pot I should use 6 gallons of water, damn that's a lot of water, I think I will take my chances and use matts technique, however I will go back to treated water after to continue out the rest of the grow.. thanks matt for the info..

"Flora-clean"--is that a trade name? How's it work?

Any takers on the second part of the post--sucking air through a carbon filter using my inline 80 CFM?

Thanks.

Yeah def. go back with the treated water after you do the flush. plants dont like too much change. I just got lazy and stoped treating my water and noticed no diff. good luck with the flush. Make sure you flush two weeks befor harvest. and feed them nothing except a little molasses onces or twice. THen just befor harvest (2 or 3 days) do another two step flush. If you do this it wil cut back on your cure time plus your smoke will nice smooth and clean producing a nice whit ash. If you do not flush you will be left with foul tasting ganja that dosent burn right and your spliff never stays lit even though its dry weed
