hi everyone

i have 3x 15 inch fluro tubes, all have had 7hrs use. i went too install tubes as extra sidelighting, as i was doing this i noticed three endcaps on the 3 tubes was loose.

the metal end caps rattle and are loose too the touch. now im worried as i have them installed and hooked up too the ballasts.

is it ok too run them with these loose metal endcaps. the caps themselves dont come off the tube they just loose and rattle around.

am i safe too turn on ballast and run lights or is there a danger from the stuff inside too me if i am too use these tubes. as i say they have only been used for 7hrs before being uninstalled and passed on too me.

I'd say you're safe as long as they still have good contact. When they get loose at work we just duct tape them until they don't move.

Your fine, just make sure they dont break off. Remember breathing mecury vapor is not good for the lungs :)

Ya you are cool from starting a electrical fire or something like that. The bulb will just fail to work before it does any damage.

If the rattling bugs ya, I believe you'll find two little metal slots with a little tab sticking thru them . . . just bend them tighter . . . or you could duct tape them still.
