Fluro Distance?

Whats a good height to keep em from the canopy? I've seen some that are pretty close prolly around 2inches away. Is that too close for 4-75w?

Until seedlings have several sets of leaves I'd say 8 inches. Then as the grow you can move it in to 2 or even one inch.

2 inches is good other wise they stretch out and have weak stems, then they can't hold your big fat buds, move them bitches closer

What about for moms and clones under 8 4' T8s?

Figure about six inches should be decent, no?

Sorry for the noobish questions; converting my veg tent into a two-level affair (with a 400HPS up top for vegging plants before they go into my flower tent) and using fluoros for the first time since I used to be an aquarium enthusiast many moons ago.

Mothers it's good to keep it a little further away because then their strecthing reaching for the lights. Giving you tons of new growth for clones.

6 inches seems a little on the far end ...... it is definitely a pain in the ass to be moving the lights up and down all of the time though.. i just got a t5 for this last grow, and i and my plants love it.. i find that moving the plants down instead of moving the lamps up is easier in my case... i keep my t5 about two or three inches away from the top of the tallest of them... i didn't move the plants one or two days and the top of pne plant did eventually get a lil burnt... nothing like an hps burn, but burnt non the less... fluro tubes tend to fade very fast at a distance, so this is why it is recomended to keep them right on top of your plants....

Thanks guys; I'm gonna shoot for about 6" away, and when the moms get too close, I'm just gonna top them.

Just not messing around with moving the light every day - the light's gonna be stationary, the moms are just going to be cut.

Only gonna need about 20 cuts from 5-6 moms every two weeks, so growth doesn't have to be very strong at all.
