i vegged with floro's and it came out alright but for flowering you need something better. hid, or t5 floro's but those are just about the same price as some hid's. check my picture gallery and look for yourself.

I have flowered with "4" T-12 plant and aquarium tubes putting out a 3500k kelvin rating at about 1900 lumens per bulb. This was of course only done with 3 females that got about 2 feet high and the smallest one "indica" about 18 inches. Toward the end i went ahead and added 2 100 watt equivalent soft-whites at a 3000k rating and 4 100 watt equivalent 6500k daylights. I must say it wasn't the best set-up but for 3 plants it did just fine.

Hank.

ummm i dont know for sure but if seen a bunch of people that have vegged out their plants on t12s and im pretty sure it works(my own results post pics tom.) they have growin rapidly i dont know if it is the cfls or the tubes but im pretty sure its the tubes....
has anyone else vegged their plants out on fluoro tubes ?????

I'm not a fan of tubes due to size/space... (well T12s anyhow) T5's rock but their just not cheap enough.

But a 2ft 20 watt T12 puts out MAX, 1250 lumens where as a 23 watt CFL will put out 1600-1750 lumens. And with T12's... soft whites net the most lumens per watt (at 1250) but something like a daylight tube only put out 1025 lumens.

thanks for the help i think ill just buy another set of t12s so ill have 4 and just use those to germinate and veg till they get to be about 6-12" tall. i just bought the book marijuania for less, so i htink ill just bulk up on my 150w(got 4 now probably buy 4 more) equivs CFLs for the later veg and flower :)
