Fluoride in Tap Water. What should I do?

Hey all ,

After doing some research - - - I've discovered that my area uses Fluoride in the water! Now I'm guessing like anything else , anything added to the water isn't good. Unless it's nutes.

So my main question is (?) : Can I let this sit in a bucket with an air-stone for 24 hrs and let it evaporate like other stuff that may be in it?

Don't tell me to get R/O as that is on the list to buy , SOON.

Thanks :peace:

If others in your neighborhood have nice gardens and nice lawns, you should be ok. I think Fluoride levels are 1 ppm when supplemented by the water company. Only some real sensitive plants have a problem with it. Never heard of wacky tobacky having problems. You should be ok. I read that if you let it sit, it will not dissipate as fast as the water evaporates so you get a more concentrated amount , so thats out. Also read where it will bind with calcium and be too big for the plants roots to uptake. ! Maybe add a little cal/mag ? Nothing serious, maybe a ml/gal since the Fluoride is only 1 PPM .

Thank you for your replies fellas.

They just recently readded it back and I forgot all about it!
Currently going through some def. problems with the plants. At least that ruled one problem out! Making my own cal-mag solution anyways too.

Your fine. I have just finished testing my tap water against an r/o system that was gifted to me and there was little to no difference. I believed the hype and ran it for a full 4 months with no difference in quantity or quality. R/O's are good for situations where bad water exists and has its place but if your ppm of your tap water is under 350, its all hype. Let your water sit and airate, you may not get all the crap out but if your running a leach or two in your cycle you'll be fine.

By the way people if you do run an R/O unit you should check your ratio of waste versus good water. My system said the ratio was 3:1, 3 being waste, actually when I tested it it was 9:1! What a waste of fresh good water.

Check it people!

Would say it's perfectly fine - fluoride is regulated at water treatment facilities heavily.. and works fine with cannabis. It would be just as if you grabbed your hose and watered other plants outside, or you had an outdoor grow. As long as you're not testing high fluoride out of a well close to a dairy farm with an insanely high PPM you're good to go - hit it captain :D

Edit: As for evaporation.. no, it'll evaporate at the same rate the water does - tis more likely to get broken down chemically than anything else.
