flowing darkness

hey was just wondering once u go 12/12 for flowerin how important is it to keep the plants in total darkness? is it a big deal to open up my closet every once in a while to get stuff out of it if its during the darkness part of the day?

yes you need total darkness for dark period! unless you want a hermie or yea it's VER important

No it will slow flowering and it could cause hermies.

on my second grow I think thats why I got all males and if you have any device's in the dark room that has lcd or any lighted dial etc.... put duck tape over the light part.

I read a post that will slow things down.

The darker the better and it has to uninterupted

what about with mothers say they gat more light ne ideas

When I pick my mother I'm going to keep her under cfl's 14/10 to save power and to keep her from budding and if that causes problems I'll switch to 18/6

ok lets say after a few weeks you def have determined their sexyness, is it still important to keep em in super total darkness or can i relax with keeping light off them once they have established a sex

^that's what I want to know as well.. my plants are 3 weeks into flower, female, and i accidentally left a very very very dim light in the closet on today (outside their sheet, which isn't quite light proof though)... This far into having established sex, could they turn hermie?

Ok its simple when you go 12/12 you have to have 12 hours of solid uninterrupted 12 hours total darkness. Not a light leak not a quick little light any light will mess them up.If you absolutly need to go in the dark area use a smal green led light and keep it off hte plants as much as possible. Do not open the door have a tv going or any kind of light.Moms I keep on 24 hour florescent tubes

Shit, at least I have a green sheet over the box.. I hope they don't turn hermie after that slip up yesterday, is was for like 8 hours.. i left the overhead light in the closet on (i'm stupid when i'm high apparently, because usually im so meticulous about these girls). I'm keeping my hopes up.. this is my first grow and I'm flowering oh so nicely. Slowing growth wouldn't bother me so much, i just would cry if i went hermie though.

I would add that closet light to the timer

I do the same shit so I got a slc 500 to all my programming

<P>I have a question about flowering in total darkness...this is my first grow and my girl is over 4 feet high...I have noticed rapid growth almost daily, but 1 week into 12/12 and progress seems to have halted...have heard total darkness is the way to go but have no idea for how long a stretch to do this for, plus I need to water her...any ideas?</P>
