Hi, I have what looks to be a female that's just started to flower. Could i put it under a light for the remainder of the flowering? Its spent its whole life by the window sill in our winter sun. Will the plant adjust to the artificial light or would it be happier staying in the window sill? Maybe under the light the process will be speed up?

puting it under a proper light will help. but in order for it to flower it must be complete dark for 12 hours. not even a lighter on, or it will hermie

I cant work out why its starting to flower now as its had the same amount of light each day since born..

I would gradually give it an hour extra a day slowly to prevent undue stress(Hermi).

it started to flower because you said it was getting 12/ 12 right now. i dont understand why he would want to increase the day time to confuse it. i think he wants it to flower. my opinion is that if he increased the day that would stress it and cause hermie.

they will flower at pretty much any age if the dark/ light is 12/12

So the light will increase the rate of flowering vs winter sunlight? Would you seriously use a hps for one plant? Unfortunetly i dont have space to keep a hps 1 foot above the plant at all times!
