flowering

Some people go straight from seedling stage to a 12/12 schedule... It is simple as.. the longer you veg... the more your plant roots and foliage develop (for indoors.. we manipulate our schedule depending on our growing area and equipment) so its never too early.. or too late.. unless your plant dies... and like bmeat says..

for peak potency and yield you should wait for the plant to become fully mature before flowering. the first sign of this will be preflowers followed by branches no longer growing across from each other and are staggered instead this comes a few days to a couple weeks after. i choose to wait for this before i flower so you should be at that point or close. you can wait as long as you have room for after that but keep in mind once you get to about 3-4 ft and your still in veg its kind of not practical with what most people have for lighting because you wont get proper penetration on what during flower becomes a 6 foot plant.

What about sog growers?

is five weeks to early to start flowering.
With a five week veg cycle, im assuming from clone, cali, you should almost be seeing pre flower or its already there. If your seed to hydro youll be fine also if theyre healthy, the less mature the plant is the more it will stretch but i think your fine bud.

With a clone. No. Clones retain the age of the mother plant. Usually a mature plant that has shown it sex.
from seed you should wait til the plant shows its sex to put in flower.

you get what you put into it. Just like everything else in the world.

alright thanks for all the replies. but when i do flower is there any kinda light the can run during flower? i know they need complete darkness but ive heard u could use a green light bulb during darkness but i didnt think that was right

dude really?! this forum is full of basic answers and i dont mind just giving it to someone so they dont have to search but come on.....you use a hps for flowering on a 12/12 schedule and if you MUST go in your room after dark and cant just feel your way around then yes using a dim green light is the safest way.

thanks man i go to work at 4 and get off at 7:30 and my 12/12 schedule is from 7 to 7 so lights are off when i get home so the green light is the safest way or is there a safier way i need to transplant asap!
