Flowering with MH

Has anyone done this? I am interested in trying this after the UVB thread, using 2 150w MH and a 150w HPS together. any thoughts?
Or just going MH all the way.
I am not looking for quanity but the best I can get (grow)

You plants will stay very green, the internode spacing will be super tight.

The fruit will be small but strong. i think you need to give some red to really get the fruit hearty

Your plants will grow just fine with either spectrum. They will grow best with both.

Good luck- I like the more different lights from every angle aproach. Can you afford some sidelight? CFL maybe?

i am currently flowering my first indoor under just mh and they seem to be doing fine considering the rest of their circumstances...

My first grow was under just MH. The buds were not very tight and the quality was so so. I now grow under FL and flower under MH and HPS. The buds seem more dense but I have not harvested yet so I don't know about the difference in quality. From the looks of them I would say use both. Having the extra blue spectrum will only help.

I love this idea. I was thinking that maybe the red light comes from the sun when the sun goes down and comes up. And the blue in general daylight. So if you somehow figured that out you could enhance this setup even more to have the timer set to allow perfect amounts of each spectrum at the right time. Just a thought.

i used a small mh along with a variety of different spectrum cfl's for flowering(yes i know get an hps lol). as stated above small very potent buds. the node spacing was very tight and yes the plants were very green. the smoke was very good, couple hits gave a nice stone.

I agree with everything here minus the small part. I shit you not...my first grow was in a wardrobe closet with a 250W MH light, 6 Golden Skush plants and the dry yield was 9oz. dry. The buds were dense, as fat as soda cans and full of thc crystals. People who smoked dank everyday would take one hit and feel the effects. Some of the best smoke I have ever had personally. Granted, I did LST them, made sure the conditions were good and pushed them to the limit with feeding, but it was my first grow and I was impressed. Also, I think it depends on the strain. I had the journal on OG, but we all know what happened there.

In short...if it's all you have, use it. If you can afford a mixed spectrum (add hps) go for it. But either one will work and personally I would use only MH over HPS if I had to choose.

I like to mix spectrums. In some grows I run 2 400 watt hps with a 4oo watt mh in between them to add blue to the grow. Im currently doing 1 setup that has a 1000qatt hps and a 1000 watt mh in the room set on timers so that the hps runsfor 6 straight hours then cuts off while the mh kicks on for 2 hours then it turns off and the hps kicksback on for the final 4 hours of 12/12.Wanted to see if the switching of spectrums for the few hours will help the total yield and compactness of the plants

I have a similar setup as far as using both lights. (1) 1000w HPS and (1) 150w MH. This is only my 2nd grow and my first was with the the 150w MH so I don't have a good base to compare the difference to. The first grow was a disaster with just the 150w MH. The plant was in the flowering stage for about 11 weeks and the trichomes were still not amber most were foggy and some were still clear. I had to harvest anyway because I was having guests and need to make sure no smell was present. I cured the buds and the potency was mediocre at best. This time around I got a 1000w HPS and the difference already is amazing. The buds are tighter and a whole lot bigger. Halfway through the flowering I decided to add the 150W MH. I just figured it couldn't hurt to have a little blue spectrum in there. Things so far are going great with both and I plan on keeping it for the next batch.
