Flowering Timing

Hey guys, i am pretty new to this growing game,(ive tried groing before, didnt work to well, damn rabbits...) ive had my plant for about a month now, or since early december, i grow indoors, and im wondering, when am i supposed to push it into flowering???, thanks i apreciate all the help i can get.

u can start flowering anytime, just the longer u veg, the more bud u will end up having
and the plant doubles or triples in size after u switch the lights to 12/12

allright, well how long do you think i should veg for for a decent yield??
 
it depends on what u mean by decent yield, what strain u have, and how long u flower for. But I usually veg until the plants are about1.5 to 2 feet tall and then switch over.

u might need more light because ur plant looks as if its either getting too much water or not enough light. What type of light do u have on it right now?

i was using a flourecent tube and the plant was surrounded by aluminum, but now i have it in a boz that is covered from top to bottom in alluminum with a 23 watt energy saving bulb , it seems a lot brighter than my last bulb i had, i dont think im overwatering it either. i water it about once a week, or when aproximately a cm of soil on the top is dry.
 
u are going to need more light in order to get a healthy plant, most likely a hps. And i would take away the aluminum foil because it can cause hot spots and doesnt work that well as a reflector, just get some white paint or panda paper.
 
Yeah, i am going to sound like a complete moron, but what is an hps bulb, and what is panda paper? But i will increase my light i just cant afford any bulb above 15 dollars, but my plant has already perked up more since the change.
 
if u cant spend more than $15 u probably shouldnt be growing. It takes at least a couple hundred dollars to set up something that will give u any weed at all.
Ur plant will be fine for a few weeks, but it wont be able to develop properly or flower any weed.

Panda paper is a white reflective sheeting, but that will cost u more than $15 by itself, so good luck but i would wait to grow until u can make some money and afford it.
 
i agree wit krypt you can use wut you got now for veg state but when you swtich over you will need something better than that im new to this too but I was fortunate enough to coem across a 6OOw HPS but i think if you got a 150w HPS for one plant should do the trick
