Flowering Time Questions

Okay, so I've got BC Bud Depot's 'The Purps'. I want to start them, but would like to work out a timeline for sexing and first harvest. The package says that the flowering time is 7-8 weeks.

Does anyone know if this is accurate, or how BCBD determines finishing time?

it could be 7 weeks it could be 8 it could be 9. Depending on some factors and how fast or slow the plant growth is.

And yes that link did answer your question if you followed what it typed in for you...

I know how I judge when a plant is finished. The question is how does BC Bud Depot judge it? Do they go by pistil development? Trichome stage? What ratio of clear/cloudy/amber? Is the claim on the packaging accurate?

I understand that there are a number of factors to consider... No need to be condescending.

:blsmoke: to tell you the truth the plant will tell you when its ready.when about 60 or 70 percent of the little hairs on the plant turn a amber brown its ready to be cut but the timeline depends on a couple factors:joint:. as far as sexing go, you'll have to keep watch because it can happen at any time.

I think in their closely observed and watched indoor grow they will go by when all ambers turn milky. Since thats when the majority of people like to chop

I use EYE Hortilux, and pro-mix bx w/ perlite.

Guy at the booth (TY expo) said they used soilless mix as well, don't know what the wattage was, but it's fair to say it's 'adequate' lighting :). I neglected to ask him how they decided a plant was finished...

Yeah bro i meant trics lol. Im tired long day @ work. Prob go by when trics turn milky.

Unless you want a more couch lock type then wait for amber

I prefer to use a scope. I believe that watching trichome development is more accurate. I like to pull plants when I start to see amber.
From my experience pistils are unreliable. The 'Blue Satellite' I have, it's pistils are completely brown long before harvest time.

That's what I figured.

i got to get me a scope,:weed: but im only at week 4 flowering, so i know that i have a little more time before its close to being ready. but i started using bud enhancer and im about to get so flavors for them. Im going to try to get two, one for each plant:mrgreen:
