Flowering Setup, light leak questions.

I finished my setup, after 40 hours of darkness (couldnt do 36 exactly hope that wont hurt em to bad) I started my plants on 12/12, from 7 am to 7 pm.

I got a few pics of where light leaks out. Keep in mind my room is naturally dark, it has 2 windows, 1 is almost completely blocked and the other one isnt letting much light in.

Do you think the small areas that light may be getting in are too big?

Also some of the leaves on my plants are turning light green towards the middles, could that just be due to not having water for 40 hours? I usually water em daily, get were really dry when i went up this morning.

Other than that just gimme some comments and opinions on the setup. Thanks guys

If you are in there and can see well enough to move around you should darken it further. A few trickles of light that don't even give your eyes enough to see at all is not a problem. You can get stuff called blackout fabric from fabric stores cheap. I rig it with velcro and use it to cover leaky spots over windows.

Ill have to just drape somthing over the crack. My cousin said it was dark as hell though

Years ago I had a similar setup where I did have a couple very minor light leaks. Crop after crop had no problems at all and then I had two in a row that did result in one plant each time turning hermi so while it is only an assumption I do believe that some strains are more susceptible to minor light leaks than others so it would be best to do away with any leaks if possible.

The more reflected/refracted the light is before it can enter the leak the less risk there is for a problem but then judging that is not always simple and if my assumption is correct that some strains are more prone to react to even minor short time period light leaks it would be better to play it safe and close them off.

There are any number of ways to do it, some of course better to far better than others, but if you want to do something as fast as possible with things you may likely have on hand large black trash bags can be a temporary fix until something better can replace it. Tape or Velcro them over any holes or of there is a door with a crack along the top or middle if it is a bi-fold door tape one folded up so it hangs over the top edge/crack/opening and also along any vertical openings.

It is not the best possible solution and I would not say it would be a long-term solution but if you have some on hand and some tape it could be worth the time to do it. The same goes with windows in rooms that allow light in.

If you have blinds/mini-blinds on the window of course close them as much as possible and then take two large black trash bags, or however many are needed, and hang then inside the blinds so they are not noticeable from the outside and they will stop light from entering the room.

It is a Rube Goldberg fix but it is only a temporary fix to avoid a possible problem and then later when you have something better to use you replace it.

Why do we not hear about outdoor growers shielding their plants from moonlight which can be much brighter than the light leaks we are talking about?

No idea. it doesnt matter much anyway. Im pretty much fucked. Its getting to hot with my carbon filter on in my grow box.

95 f with filter
90 f without filter

85 with door open to grow box.

So im gonna probably just have to cut em down and make cannabutter if i can even do that being that they didnt flower at all yet.

Would I be able to do that or would the thc i get be almost non existant?

Im broke as far as what I can spend on my setup. I dont have 35 extra bucks a month to run an AC unit.

which is what it would cost me, electricity here is 10 cents per kwh

Im gonna have to grow in the winter only
