I am about 2 weeks to start a forced flowering stage. Is it best to go from 18/6, then a day of no light then 12/12? Or like I have seen other posts; go like 18/6 to 17/7 to 16/8 to 15/9 to ..and so on..? till 12/12?
I have 9 WW and 3 Mazar x Afghan, some of the WW looks like are going male under 18/6. and would like to get rid of the males asap for limited space.
I am not set up with containers (space issue) that I what to finish with flowering and my set up is going to change to perpetual grow, using clones.
This is my first indoor grow. and I have made several mistakes; #1; waiting too long to feed and then when I did it was too hot. I am using MG Organic Garden Soil and perlite with a little sand. #2; under watering and over watering. #3; spraying under lights...but me thinks I have overcame the issues using Superthrive. Plants are doing really well now. Growing like a weed. The plants range from 10" to 13" tall. And were FIMed.
The MAs look really tough and strong and the widows look really well for their strain too. New growth daily.
I have learned a great deal of cultivating from this site and I want to thank everyone here for all their input in the forums. No matter how silly some are...*jest*.
I am using T5s and CFLs, and am going to go ahead and add several T8s here really soon.
But when I go from 18/6 to 12/12 shall I get rid of all the 6500k in the flowering booth and use 2700k? or do I mix kelvin?
Thanks for your input..

ok then. 18/6 to one 24 no light then 12/12? correct? shall i mix kelvin? maybe later in flowering i can afford a hps. i have one from a parking lot but the ballast is bad and need a bulb.

Just switch the lights to 12/12 when you are finished the pre-flowering cycle. The dark period before flowering is just a waste of 24 hours. The plant does not need this and it will not create more or bigger buds. It will only slow the flowering process down by 24 hours.

i believe its not a waste of 24 hrs i believe it actually speeds up the flowering process...but thats my opinion

People call the 24 hr dark period "shocking into flower". I personally don't think I want to shock my plants into anything. shock is bad for the plant so why do it?
