Flowering NPK ratio

Hello all!
I've been busy for the past 5 months on an outdoor terrace grow and following all of the info I've found on this site. Obviously, I've had the ups and downs of first time growing, but thankfully I've gotten past a lot of the issues and now have three girls already into flowering...approximately 3 weeks now. My question is maybe simple maybe not (i've seen that no question is as simple as it seems on RIU) -since I'm going into flowering, would it be okay to use a nute which has an NPK of 3-4-5? Mind you, I've had some over-nuteing problems in the past and I don't want to nitro burn the gals...if you think otherwise, then what ratio would you reccommend?

Thanks for everything...I've learned a lot by reading and had some good laughs as well...maybe next time or the third, I'll be able to give my own advice!

well normaly Ppl cut Nitrogen .. either when starting on 12/12/flowering .. or atlest 2 weeks in (after the stretch)

and I must strongly advice you to do the same ..now .. or atlest seek more info on the subject .. nitrogen late in flowering can make the leaves claw and stress a plant in to foxtailing and even hermi ..

why Ppl. entering flowering often do a flush when growing in pots ..

what you need is some high P. and a littel K. and may I also suggest some sugar (black strap molasse)

P. is what the plant mostly need for the bud/flower production .. N. is for its green grow (Veg.)

thanx man for the info...it's what i thought would be best but I'm having a hard time finding solutions with little or no N and only P and K ratios...this was the nute with the lowest N ratio that I could find...I'm thinking I might have to order them off the internet...as far as the molasses is concerned, I would love to but I can't even find syrup for pancakes where I am, so I doubt the molasses would be readily available...but i can find plenty of wine so I guess that's a bit of consolation :-P!

i dont cut N i just lower it like crazy... for veg i use a 20-20-20 and flower 1-3-2... always works for me.... feed after a week in flower.. from then i do every other watering, then flush the last 3 weeks

I use canna flores @ 5:3:10 which is fuckin perfect my man. Keep in mind too much P can lock out the much needed N.

i would advise a 2-4-5 during the first 2-3 weeks of flower because of the stretch. N will help it to stretch out more during this time. after that adjust according to your needs. I use a 0-5-4 Bloom nute Advanced jungle juice

so, what i'm seeing is you all seem to think a little N is good at the beginning of flowering but probably the combo of 3-4-5 is too much...maybe I'll try something with 1 or 2 at the beginning because I think they already have had enough N and the 3 might burn 'em...thanks for all the tips, the community is great and I look forward to learning a lot more!

Its not that 3% will burn them. Its just that N makes vertical growth. The first 2 to 3 weeks is when the plant stretches the most. So y give it something like N to help it stretch. The more a plant stretches the less denser nugs

Understood...thanks for the heads up...so probably at this stage after about 3 weeks of flowering I should cut out the N or drastically reduce it...find maybe something with 1% or less N in it...like the bloom nute you suggested.

No. Once you put your lights to 12/12 stop giving N. Give it a 2/5/4 or something similar. And that is for the first two to three weeks of 12/12. after the first three weeks of low N nutes i switch to my bloom nutes with no N.

Thanks for the clarification...It's not an indoor grow but outdoor and the lighting is just starting to go to 12/12. I put them in the sunlight from AM until sunset and then place them in an isolated dark area for the rest of the night, so no streetlights or whatnot can catch 'em. the light's diminishing rapidly here, with the days shortening very quickly, so the flowering is really picking up now. I would immagine, though that the same principle (low N at the beginning and then bloom nutes with no N) you mentioned applies also to outdoor grows...just gotta tailor it a bit...thank you for all your advice

yea sounds about right ..

and ther is´t realy one way to do it .. its all a run and trail .. stuff like your soil and the strain aso. also play a part here ..

need to get your experiance yourself .. tho gather some info and makeing some research will help you a lot so your not completly off .. so keep on asking .. and reading ..

but yea .. low nitrogen in flowering .. specialy last 4 weeks or so .. when you get more experiance after a few grows you will discover and be able to spot when to feed .. and that dark geen leaves mean they got enough nitrogen and when they begin to get light green/yellow they are in need of some ..

a low N nutrien 1-5% is actualy ok to use .. but if you use it like on a scredule (etc. water water nuts water water nuts aso) you will most likely end up with to mouch N. in your soil ..

can make your top fan/sugar leaves claw/curl .. it can make it stretch more then you like to .. make it foxtailing .. even hermi .. but worst of all it can reduce the bud size/quality ..

need to keep the bottom leave just green .. if that make any sens .. or play safe and let some bottom go yellow ..

so to get enough P and K you might need two diffrents nutriens or a way to provide high P.
and only use the nutriens you have now .. Etc. once a week at ½ strengs...

and molasses was also pretty hard for me to find here in Denmark .. we dont eat pancakes at breakfist .. here we use em as a desert with stuff like ice cream aso ..

had to use a hour searching/googleing .. to find out that the only shop in my eare who had it/could get it was a Organic/wellness shop who sells boath organic food and natrual medicin aso .. had to order it home (4 days) and cost like 8$ for a jar with 500 grams in it .. but wort the hour of searching and the 10 minuts drive .. twise and the 8$ .. and now I know wher to get it next time .. maybe order a few jars next time ..

Excellent advice and tips! I didn't even think to try an herbal/organic shop, I was just looking in supermarkets! After a little search, I've already found molasses online! Maybe i'll go this week to some local shops and see if they have it...in any event, I can find it!
Regarding your statement to use only the nutrients that I have now..does that mean I shouldn't change now and only look for a PK supplement?

By the way, you Danes go crazy on the sugar for your dessert...some of the best cakes I ever had were Danish...I lived in Luebeck, Germany for a while and could head over to denmark for a bit and just loved going to the bakery in the morning....I'd be set with energy for the entire day!

Thanks again for your info!
