Flowering next to a different strain; is it true?

So I was just wondering, I have 1 super skunk plant and the other is something like AK-47. These plants are in my backyard growing next to eachother under at least 12-13 hours of sunlight.

They just started flowering and are looking and smelling amazing but I was just wondering if its true that if you leave two females budding beside eachother that they will cross pollinate, making a cross bread of the two types of weed your growing.

If thats true, how far apart should they be so their pollens dont touch eachothers air or should I just let them mix?

They are litterally about 2-4 ft away from eachother right now; pretty close.. so let me know!

lol i would hope not since i'm flowering 3 different strains in a grow room and they're overlapping quite a bit. But I move the branches around so that bud gets as much light as they can.

Can a plant genetically alter itself while growing(other than turning female to male/hermie)? I thought it was something done during seed creation.

Awesome, I was hoping that is was false info, i was hoping my super skunk wouldnt cross bread with a strain that isnt as good as it. That would have made a waste of this whole summer growing
