Flowering height help

Hi, I grow 6 plants under a 400w and usually end up with around an 1oz after each harvest and personally from the looks of the plants there has to be a way to get more flowers.

Details: 100% sativa strain, made to flower outdoors (I generally get a 1/2 lb. from each outdoor plant). But currently the ones i have indoors are about 3ft in height, many branches (15-25 per plant roughly) but the flowers only form on the very top branches, and the lower branches die off towards the end of flowering.

I was wondering if I were to top off the plants at about 2 ft instead and only have a couple large branches and stems on each plant(5-10) (basically grow them fatter and shorter) would I get more than what i am currently getting out of them?

any suggestions welcome, thanks

well sativa isnt inside friendly to start they need room and lots of light to grow. Most inside grows are indica or indica heavy mixes.Do you trim the lower branchs and top the plants to get 2 large colas and then secondary nugs or do you use side lighting as inside lower branches dont get light unless you put it there.I reccoment 2 harvests per grow.Take the top big buds then cut back not bud sites and let lower small buds fill in get the light and feed better for another 2-3 weeks. 6 plants insode with 400 watt hps lights should get at least 1 oz per plant dry weight and usually more.Few people get qp per plant dry weight or more if done right.I get like 2-3 oz per 4 foot finished plant growing aero

i dont use a side lights for the lower branches, basically just see where the buds form on the current ones and then on the next ones cut the branches where they dont form?

Id go with cropping the tops and thinning the lower stuff then .Keep the light close(still unclear what light you use from the other post) if its a true 400 watt hps with a ballast then use the hand test.Place hand back side up at top of plants and lower light til just uncomfortable usually 8 inches or so from the top.Give them some space between.Use at least 2 gallon buckets 5 gallon is prefered.Feed good nutes and dont over water.Doing 6 plants only Id reccomend a DIY deep water culture bubbleponics setup which costs you about $45 bucks and an hour of time to build.Growth is almost doubled and finish cuts about 2-3 weeks off.
