Flower to figure out sex

My question is I have 2 plants growing rather well at about a foot tall. I would like to go 12/12 to find out there sex so I may attempt to clone them. Does it hurt to clone them in the flowering stage ? I'm not having much success with seedlings lately but have ordered some female seeds. I purchased a Jiffypot7 with hopes to have better luck. Doing a test run right now with 52 seeds. These pictures are 3 days old and nothing is coming up

give it a few days with my fingers crossed. Let me know what you think of these !!

Well first, if you are growing from seed you need to veg them for at least 3 weeks before flowering. But at I think about 6 weeks of veg you should see the "pre-flowers" and then can see if it a male or female. I have cloned from a flowering plant before and it just took about 3 or 4 weeks instead of 2, but this is not easy to do and a pain the ass to keep checking on a humidity dome every few hours for a month. So either leave the plants in veg until you see pre flowers, or clone before you flower them and just mark what clone is what plant.

Oh and trust me once the plant shows it's sex its not hard to tell if it s male or female, one will be a ball and the other a hair. Also I found you can tell a male from a female by the way the top of the plant looks, (after flowering has started you can see what will be a bud and what won't) but it is very small difference.

Thanks for your reply !! I will let it veg out. Going to be moving everything to a better location with flowering tent 4 x 4 and some 90W UFO LED to start with. I will be ordering a 600W HPS shortly. Don't want to deal with customs so looking for somewhere north of the border

Veggie room is about 2 x 6 so that will give me lots of room. I'm not clear on one thing. I figure I can grow 16 plants in a 4 x 4 tent !! I'm I crazy ? One last thing, I have ordered California Dream Feminized seeds x10. Won't have to figure out sex then

well feminized seeds can still be male from stress and waht not..also i guess you could grow 16 plants but its gonna be crammed in there and pretty much could lower your yield..really depends on how you grow them..sog is prolly the best but its up to you

after a couple weeksin 12/12 youwillbe able to tellsex... if you don't have a hight restriction then i would veg a bit longer. :weed:

I think I will veggie them until "preflowers" appear. Now the question is if I attempt to clone acouple is that sex already decided ? Meaning if I use cuttings today to clone and the mother plants say preflowers in 2 to 3 weeks my clones are going to be the same sex correct ? Hoping with the Jiffypot7 the cloning will be some what easier !!

Your clones will be exact duplicates of the mother - a female mother will produce female clones.

Thats what I figured !! Maybe next week I will attempt to clone a few and with alittle luck when the mother preflowers and shows us there sex it will be a female
