floro or HPS

I have a flor light, and an HPS. the dude i got the lights from said to start using the HPS when the plant got about 1ft 1/2 tall. So thats what i did. Since then though, the plant isnt growing as rapidly as it was with the floro. Is this because of the light switch? Or did it just hit a growth spurt or something earlier? Its about 3 weeks old now. Should i go back to the floro for its veg, and then use the HPS for flowering? or wat?

vertical growth isnt always good growth... your plant was probally streching to get light with the fluros,

yeah it did stretch. but should i go back to the floro and keep it right above the plant?

no use the hps... what wattage is it??

the bulb itself is only 50w, but it's got this thing on it too..not sure how mcu it helps it.

use your fluros to supplement the hps

That looks like a fire waiting to happen.. is that the ballast just sitting out in the open on the reflector?

just position them both right above the plant? Is there any way i can start to get the plant wider? that just happends as it goes right?

they're connected with those plastic ties that u gotta cut to get off. n na they arent touching, they're bout an 1/2 inch from eachother. and the bulb screw in about 1 1/2 in. down the reflector.

If you want a bushier wider plant you need to hamper the growth upwards. You could either top the plant causing two main colas or just damage the top stem by pinching it that will cause the plant to stop growing up and the branches below get a good start growing
