Florakleen for eliminating salt buildup or plain water?

I run water to waste hydro hempy buckets in perlite with the GH maxi series fertilizer and I've done little to no maintenance on my buckets to address salt buildup. I've considered running something like Florakleen through if it helps wash away the accumulated salts, but I have no idea if it's just another snake oil product marketed to the cannabis industry or if it is useful. I'm leaning towards snake oil, but I thought I'd ask around to see what the consensus is among other hydro growers. I'll be running plain RO water @ 2 gallons per 5 gallon bucket, and I considered adding Florakleen to the water if it helps. If it doesn't really help I'll just run the water through and save my money.

Just to be clear I'm talking about eliminating salt buildup. Not flushing to affect flavor or anything like that. I just want to keep my roots happy and not covered in salts that may inhibit their ability to absorb fertilizer properly from the reservoir.

My understanding for hydro is... Build up is unavoidable, heat on the leafs makes the plants perspire so water evaporates from the canopy pulling more up from the roots by capillary action, the water will evaporate but not the minerals driving up the ec?

I'm not home so can't check. But I think the stuff I use i called drip clean. Maybe it was florakleen. Have to check.

I do a flood drain ish style and my pan would get covered in salt build up. My pan does not drain 100% and the angle is minimal.

Using this stuff is not a 100% but you can def see it makes a difference in how much salts build up over time.

I used to have a huge salt spot on the drain side where the water would sit. Not anymore.

It works the same as using nutes but you wont have to use as much water. Say you're at 1000ppm runoff and want to get down to 600 it won't take as much water with florakleen. If you dont have to flush that much just run what ppm you want to be at.

Thanks dudes. I'm gonna grab a qt of florakleen to see how effective it is at removing the buildup. I have to siphon away the water from my drip trays with a pump so the less water I have to run through the easier it is to get in and out.

If your tray is off the ground sufficiently to siphon you could save yourself the trouble with a piece of capillary mating, it works in the same way as siphoning only it happens without intervention from us the grower.
If it's any interest I'll get a photo?

Look into flying skull z7, enzymes that eat the salt buildup. I run coco with minimal buildup on equipment thanks to the z7.
