flooring?

I am growing in a barn, is it ok to have dirt under the plastic in my grow room, or do i have to pour cement. is there any other options that would be cheaper? THX

I dont see why it would be a problem unless its making a lot of dust.

unless your going for maximum reflectivity, you should be fine if dust or buggies aren't an issue.

Put down a layer of visqueen, and over the top of that put a layer of mylar.
Poof, reflectivity on the cheap.

foam panels, they will help keep the cold floor away from your roots
than put your plastic/mylar on top of those.

Are you using pots or what? I just don't get why the ground matters unless you are growing in it?

You don’t need cement; just level the dirt, add a vapor barrier (thick plastic), and cover with gravel, mats, or plywood for a cheaper cleanable floor.
