Float valve auto top off. (a benefit to any system?)

Hi, just wondering if a self topping reservoir would be an advantage in an ebb/flow system. Could I go a whole grow without changing out the res?

Would incorporating the waterfall effect be beneficial at all?

Thanks

Waterfall effect is good for helping to keep your reservoir aerated.

Putting a float valve on any system is a nice way of having an automated
method of topping it off, but this can be done to any system.
I use a float valve when I go away on vacation or are out of
town for a few days to help keep things manageable so when I come back thing
are still on track.

If you're inexperienced I wouldn't try keeping your reservoir unchanged for
longer periods of time as this is a quick way to run into problems, even with
a float valve.

Ah, I had not thought of when the ebb/flow system goes onto it's flood cycle. The res will top off and then when the solution drains back it will overflow the res.

This is my first grow, is it really that bad a job to do fresh nutes once a week or two? because I may not bother with float valve after all.

Am I better off going for the flood table with 4 plants under 600w rather than say RDWC?

This is the only flood tray that will fit through my loft hatch http://www.progrow.co.uk/acatalog/info_671.html will this be any good for a 600w with 4 plants (the canopy size could be 1.2meter x 1.2 meter ?) even though it's not the 1.2sq meter tray? Would this still be a good setup, or should I go for DWC
