in my grow room i have noticed tiny little black fly's, they are around the base of the plants, never traveling above the first leaves.
can anyone help me identify these and how to kill them?

many thanks.

This is correct information except one thing neem does not kill fungus gnats.

I would personally go to your local Hydro store and look for something like GNATOFF or GNATROL or anything related to getting rid of fungus gnats.

A single adult fungus gnat can lay up to 300 eggs during its lifespan. These eggs turn into the larvae that feed on your root hairs.

The above mentioned products contain BT becilius theringiensis (or something to that effect) that stops the larvae from feeding.

You can mix this into your water and feed it to your plants and this will stop the larvae from feeding but you will need a few applications to eradicate them.

I would also get yourself some yellow sticky traps and put them around the tops of your pots and near to the bottoms of your pots.
