Flavorants > Terpenes for aroma ???

Well there's a flavor industry, and there's a perfume industry. I've worked in both. Cannabis is the only consumable industry pretending perfumes are for flavor. It'll bite the industry in the ass someday soon as the burnt lungs are already showing up. It's my sole argument for rescheduling cannabis. To take it out of the hands of the essential oil terpene clowns who think putting floor cleaner in a vape pen and calling it medicine is an acceptable substitute for growing medicinal quality Cannabis. Solvents that eat through their own containers should not be used to [poorly] mimicking actual cannabis flavors. The fake (terpene based) floor cleaner profiles are an absolute joke, yet I'm told regularly that this contaminated adulterated low grade product is high quality and natural, because terpenes are good and natural..

It's still misdirection. Cannabis gets its flavor from non volatile primary metabolite sugars and acids mostly. The concept is completely lost on today's producers. Anyone growing 40 years ago knew if the buds weren't sweet or sour no one wanted them as they had zero therapeutic value. This will always be true. Today's buds are mostly flavor free and resemble coriander or a candle no one likes, if they smell like anything other than Part B boosters.

Now the say weed terps like skunk garlic armpit etc are supposed to evaporate in 2 days or some shit? Not if the plant keeps producing them.. Not if that garlic is grown and harvested right..

The goal of growing Cannabis has always been to produce sugars and fats from which all cannabis metabolites derive from. These fats and sugars should continue to break down after harvest. Unfortunately the only thing breeders have been able to do for us is speed up oxidation of thc into cbn and replace cannabis thiols/sugars/acids with perfume and soap chemicals. Literally the most careless detrimental outcome that has been touted as a goal for 30 years

Did you even read the article? It’s not about adding artificial flavors or terpenes to the plant
