First time (Violator Kush)

Ok so this is my first grow/set up I have a mother about 4ft. tall and a clone from her i just transplanted. So only 2 plants so far.

Lights:
x1 65w CFL-3900 lumens
x2 26w CFL-3200 lumens
(repti-glo2.0)
x2 T8Flor.--1400 lumens
(plant&aquarium)
Total lumens=6500

Soil:
Fox Farm Ocean Forest

Nutrients:
Botanicare's Pure Blend PROgrow 3-2-4
Botanicare's CAL-MAG Plus 2-0-0

I plan on trying to flower my mother and keep my new little clone as the new mother.
My major question is, would a 150w HPS be a suitable for flowering 1-2 large plants? Or should I at least go for a 250w HPS? Also any other advice or hints would be awsome.

150 would be great.250 then u will have to worr bout heat problems

How much heat would a 250w HPS produce? Would simple house fans be able to handle that? or what type of airration would be needed? Also what would the max amnt. of plants be per 150w and 250w?

It looks like you are in a closet right now, where are you going to put the HID light for the 12/12 part? A 250W light in a 8x10 room is one thing, in a 2x2x4 box it's another. How tall are you going to veg before you go to flower? The 150W should be OK for 1 or 2 but, not if you are going to grow them tall.

Yes, they are in a closet now. I plan on only flowering my big girl (about 4ft) in there and taking out the little clone to veg elsewhere. My closet is about 2ftx4ft and about 7 1/2ft tall. Now I eventually want to flower about 2-3 maybe even 4 plants about 3ft tall and may not be in such a tight space later but still would like to rely on simple house fans for the heat.

Our grows have a lot i common. I used a 150 watt HPS (Now use a 400 HPS) for flowering in my closet. I grow perpetual and have Violator Kush in my grow.I'll share what I can with you.

If you plan on buying a 150 watt hps to flower I'd suggest using a 400 watt, it's not much more expensive. The 150 will not penetrate enough even on a single plant that size. Not saying it wont grow it just wont produce as you'd think. I know its an expense, but trust me it will pay for itself in 1 harvest. If youre gonna flower more than 1 plant that size the 150 will not be enough. I tried and got a bunch of spongy buds. With my 400 in flowering and the 150 vegging my buds are 3 times the size and rock hard.

I had heat issues w/ running the 150 in my closet and keeping the door closed. I removed the door, used heavy duty velcro and heavy black poly as the door. I made a small hole at the top for exhaust and a small hole at the bottom for intake.
After doing that heat was fine and I decided to upgrade to a 400 watt light w/ inline fan and hood. Heat is never an issue and light leaks are non existent. The difference between the 150 and 400 is big, my yields are MUCH higher now, i couldnt be happier.

Enjoy the VK, that strain is great. I have my first few at 6 weeks flowering now, the tops are heavy enough that I had to stake them to prevent collapse
Smells super sweet and is covered in resin glands. I cant wait for harvest in a few weeks. Hope you have some kind of odor control, you're gonna need it, the VK is the stinkiest strain in my grow.

Thats exactly it I want to try to avoid the heat so I dont have to get into all that ha ha my friend kinda has that similar setup that i helped with. Whats the heat and the most you can grow with a 250w?

Also I plan to tie down the plant as well if that might help with lighting too?
