First time tying a plant down, how'd i do?

this plant is 20 days old and was a little over 6 inches tall. what could i do differently?

Looks good and the plant placement off center looks good too. I'm going back to LST my next run. I use pieces of coat hanger bent in half and I pin them down just above the ground. I find it the easiest way to train them. Veg time takes a good bit longer until the pot gets filled out evenly. But after running my last 2 grows straight up and yield suffering for it, I'm going back to that method.

I just use metal coat hangars. Cut in two pieces, straighten, bend a hook on one end to hold the branch, and presto, a free branch holder downer thingamabopper.

I've had success using the coat hanger method as well. I've even stopped tying down the stem for a counter weight on the root ball as some suggest. I am constantly pinning them down in directions that don't put great stress on the roots in one direction. Your setup looks very nice. the only thing I could say is that your stem looks like its slightly pinched at the bottom. Your stem is very woody and when I LST with strong, woody stems I like to bend them slightly and work them around until they are softer and bend easier and more gradual along the length of the stem.

You need tie down higher up on the plant. You want the top going horizontal.

i use a reel of garden twist tie stuff. As long as I am careful when securing to the plant (done first) it works great.

It is scary at first but once you get a feel for you see just how you can safely bend them.

I also top once before LST to have two starting points to build off of. You could do the same.

Yep, it is I believe the easiest way to achieve a good LST. I try to go in a circle around the pot as best I can but sometimes the plant has other ideas so I end up randomly pinning down new growth but the idea is to get the growth even as much as possible across the pots diameter. Once you have that you can let her grow up into a nice full bush.
Sometimes the stakes will begin to push themselves up out of the ground but by then the plants already trained low to the pot. The bigger the pot diameter the longer it takes but the results is a much bushier plant with multiple colas.
I'm only going to go with 4 plants on my next run instead of my usual 7 so I'd like them to be as full as I can get them.
These beans of Blue Dream and Green Crack are burining a hole in my container. I gotta get started !
