First time topping

Did I fuck it up? Also 2 of my lower single leaves are turning yellow and seem to be dying, do those leaves fall off on their own?

Yeah you should be fine no worry’s that’s just the first set of leafs just take em off should be fine
 
the first true leafs and the cotyledon will often yellow up and fall off, no worries there. As far as topping you should be ok but it may take some time to rebound due to how the plant is growing. can we see a full pic of the plant? node growth looks little to none

It was growing its 5th node that I topped so now it has 4 ..ill take a better pic soon
