OK so long story short. After many years and lots and lots of reading and watching others, I finally have the opportunity to start my own personal grow! Ive decided to start off small just to test the waters. Ok here's set up.

BOX: L33in x W17in X D17in. I modified an old dresser/nightstand I had home that my wife wanted me to "get rid of" lol.

SEEEDS/SOIL. 2 bag seeds I've collected. Just picked two out of 7 good looking seeds. Soil is Miracle grow for seedlings.

LIGHTS: Right now I have 3 23w=100w equivalent cfl.

FANS: I have two 120mm fans hooked up to old phone chargers. One for intake the other extraction. Also there's a small 4in fan inside blowing on plants.

TEMPS: Lights on max Temps are about 85f and lights off they have been getting a little cold at 73-74f since its middle of winter where I am.

BASICS: Im on.or about day 3/4 both have sprouted and showing first set of leaves. The first day i have them 24 hours of light but now ive started them on 12/12 to keep them smaller. Again this is just for personal use and experience. Pics will help explain things a little better. I know I skipped a few important things lol. Please if anyone is interested ask questions and I love learning new things so don't hesitate to point me in the right direction!

Any thoughts on deformed leaves? It's growing much faster than the other one and its only a few days ahead. Could be just be the strain. I have no idea which seeds came which batch so it's all a gamble lol

I def plan on letting them grow. It's actually been doing well! I'll post pics of them after watering in am.

And I'm actually learing about led now. Heard they are pretty good. Do you have any suggestions on size for my space. I have no idea about them lol.

For lighting in your space I personally would recommend screw in leds with diffusers removed. They generate a lot less heat than CFL and you won't get airy buds.
You may need to rethink your extraction especially when you hit flower, I ran pc fans with carbon filters for a while but in flower I struggled with temps and smell.

Going to sort this out today. And smell for me is no issue. Its legal for me so no need for filter at this point.

You should be fine on the extraction if you don't need filtration, the filters restrict some airflow.
Good luck buddy! Happy growing!

I would stay away from lights like that.
Honestly I tried a burple light and it was crap, I got better results with CFL and even better with the screw ins.
I don't know if you could get a quantum board or strip setup for your space, but that would be a better way to go if you can.

Thanks for the heads up! This is why I asked before anything! OK so something more like this?

You talking about normal daylight bulbs you can buy at the hardware store? All I seem to be able to find near me are 5000K and 2700K at 1500 lumens. WIsh I could find some 6000+K

Yeah but I use GU10 bulbs @2700k for flower, 5000k is good for veg.

I was thinking more like this but I don't know the dimensions.
I looked into quantum boards and they're a lil to expensive for my taste lol. Would two of the 50w screw in work? Do they fit into regular light sockets? Or some sort of special socket?

If these are your only choices on budget than I would say the panel light, you may find it generates more heat than light.

You will want around 100w of actual draw on the screw in leds, not equivalent. Using multiple bulbs will give you better coverage.

So the two 50w instead of the 1 100w?
The bulbs I use are labelled as 15w led, equivalent to 50w incandescent. But when I tested the wattage, the bulb is only consuming 5.5w. So I used the 5.5w as the figure to work from.

You may find the 100w is really a 15-20w bulb and the 50w less. So I would say minimum of 5 bulbs if that's the case.
