First Time Nuggets Need ANY ADVICE

These plants were started 1 month and 12 days ago. They have been in the flowering cycle 12/12 for twelve days now. Lighted under Four 4' wide spectrum floros and two 2' red spectrum bulbs. Planted in maricle grow potting soil and feed with miracle grow house plant food with 7-9-8 nutes once every 4 days. Just need advice from someone intelligent. Everything seems to be going ok and all are females. 1 Alaskan thunderfuk, 2 OG Kush, and 1 Hawaain Mango.

what gives u the notion of a male?? It has two white pistol hairs two nodes down with no sacks on any of them!!

Just move the light closer to them to stop them from stretching. Im guessing you started from seed. did you start them off in These big pots? If so, next time try using smaller pots. Start off with something like plastic cups and transplant them. Leaving them in the smaller pots for a little longer will help build a stronger root system and also make you plants less stretched and more shorter and bushier.

The better the root system the more potent and dense buds you get.

white pistols = Females

HE may thought it was male because males tend to grow faster and taller and their nodes are more stretched apart. Sometimes plants with pistols end up getting pollen sacks also. These are called hermaphrodites. It a plant that has both make and female charactoristics and while they might still produce bud they will have tons of seeds while pollenating your other plants giving your whole crop seeds. Herms = garbage regs throw em out the minute you see a sack.

i appreciate all the help and i hope it continues so i can have a successfull grow. Actually they veged in small pots for 3 weeks started from seed. i will posts some more pics of my setup in a couple of minutes.

leave those lights where they are until the tops are touching the bulbs it wont burn them at all, and only light so much to where you can put your finger between the top of the plant and the bulb

those two shoplights will do for 4 plants for a while 3 and your perfect but two will get the job done, but it couldnt hurt two buy another shop light, theyre so cheap and work wonders.

12 bucks each at ace hardware including bulbs

i have two more fixtures and im screwing them down to plywood as we chat. that will make four fixtures total X 8 wide spectrum bulbs. Would that do the trick???

yeah thats gonna do great, you can flower with flourecents. but id sugesst buying at least a 250 high pressure sodium. They sometimes go for 150 bucks and its a great investment they make you buds FAT!

deffinatley.. i have the money do you suggest a safe site and light to purchase with no problems and what does it consist of when wiring an hps light. Im no electrician but by no means am i a retard!!

would the 117 dollar one which is only 250 watts be better than the 8 tubes i have for four plants????

better than the flourecents? well im no expert on lummen output. I know with hps they get somewhat hot and have to be placed higher ffrom the tops of plants. WIth flourecents they can be right up againts the plants and the plants get ALL the lumens while some lumens arnt taking in from the hps because it must be farther away. There is a good thread on here about lumen output its in the general growing section i think.

But i think a 250w system would be better to flower with.
The spectrum is red and is what the plants like while they produce bud, it resembles the sun better.

Flourecents are better for veg because they have a light blue white spectrum which plants use to create leaves.

i use flourecents to veg a 400w hps to flower

how much is your power bill runnin that 400hps and how many plants you have. just trying to get a quick idea of electric increase and the bill amount
