First time medical grower in need of help........

Hey everyone, I'm a first time grower. I have 7 plants in a 5x4x8 room. They are 4 weeks old from small clones. I have a 1000w HPS and 600w CFL's, 4" inline fan, 16" oscillating fan, not directly on them, and I'm growing in an organic medium/soil. I use RO water and PH it to 6.7? after nutes. I "TRY" to keep the temp at 70-80, which I am pretty successful. I give them nutes almost every day. On occasion I give them just PH water when the leaves look a little yellowish, nute burn? The nutes are General Organics, I just follow the feeding schedule, and the soil is Roots Organics. I just transplanted them to 3 g pots. I also have some Green Pads/CO2 pad hanging in the room, saving for the CO2 system. The Power Plant and the 2 Blue Dreams look great. The Power Plant was the smallest. The Romulan1 looks OK. The Romulans2 & 3 are so-so. but the Romulan4 is looking horrible. The growth is stunted and it looks like a damn bonzsai tree. I did however trim the hell out of it this morning to get rid of all the twisted, yellowish, mangled looking leaves. Some had 3, 4 and 5 petals. I figured if it goes, it goes. I've been reading extensively for about a year on how to grow. TOO MUCH INFO! So I would love any help.....Thanks

IMO it sounds like u have a situation of nute lock, u dont need to give them nutes every single day, ive always had really good luck just using nutes lightly or even every other feeding at the beginning and letting the soil get dry and the pot get light in weight before i water again...they might be stunted for any number of reasons, i know its hard not to be all up on the plants especially since its ur first grow but its just a weed, let it do its thing...ur sounding too technical for a first time grower in my opinion, lol...do u monitor teh humidity?...it should be around 50-65% during veg and 30-50% during flower (just to ward off mold, etc)... what works perfect for me and alot of my buddies is fox farm soil, fox farm or flora nova nutes..... at first i did the whole check ph and this and that, when they were clones i only watered with distilled water and then that shit got pricy, started using tap water and it made zero difference...works fine....a good rule of thumb if ur plants are acting funny (for me) is to completely flush the soil for a good 5-10 nminutes, then if u want, add nutes on top of the flush, that way u know u have flushed out all the salt buildup from previous nute cycle out of the medium and u have fresh clean water and nutes for them...when u let the soil get dry before u water again it promotes the roots to stretch out and look for water since its thirsty, thus promoting root growth, thus promoting bigger roots/bigger plants...overwatrering is number 1 killer of plants with new growers

Well I think I haven't been replying correctly. So if this ends up a double sorry. Mazand1982 that totally sounds probable. I flushed them for 5-10 mins after I read your post. I did it with just tap water. I went ahead and did all of them to be on the safe side. After I added a little nute water, about 1/3 the amount as I normally do. We'll see what happens. Thanks

First up, I applaud you for being detailed in your question jason7305. It's much better to be provided with too much of the right information than too much of the wrong - which is often the case with newbies.

I agree with mazand1982 for the most part. Even though your leaves look a little light green in places you have tip-burn. So the combination of tip-burn and light shade would also suggest to me a nutrient lock-out .. Also, you have quite marrow leaves on all your plants which further suggests to me that they are having nutrient transportation issues .. Broad leaved cannabis plants transpire a lot of water from their leaf surface because they have no problem getting all the required nutrition to every part of the plant .. Abnormally narrow leaved plants tell the opposite story, especially when there are other signs of deficiency .. Check this link out, it's a seriously well researched guide to plant stresses .. The plants show us everything we need to know about how they're feeling, so it's just a case of knowing how to respond to different signs.

I would flush also, but my method would differ .. I'd pH water a few times in a day and dispose of the run-off each time .. Having an EC meter enables you to test the run-off until it gives a reasonable reading before adding more nutes to the grow medium .. This is not to contradict or go against mazand1982's assistance .. There's more than one way to to grow great marijuana; the basic principles are the same but grower's tend to employ their own techniques that complement everything about the way the grow and relate to their plants :)

The old saying is 'if in doubt, flush it out' - Best of Luck

Hey Jason, I hear ya about reading up on grows so you do it right but ya know, there is nothing like experience.
I bet nowhere in the book did it say "well, sometimes ya just gotta cut the runts loose and run with the plants that grow the best under your conditions." You heard it here.

I am a medical patient too and here we have plant limits. I have tried growing out the runts, one time I got a late bloomer but most never did anything. My advice? toss it and move on.

I see what you guys r saying. I did flush them the other night and again yesterday. They look better, but the leaves on half are narrow, so I DEFINATELY will check up on the link....... Thanks guys......
