i was readinng the FAQ about the DWC hydroponics setup and decided to go with it... i was wondering if i could jus growi out in the open??? or how i can make a growbox o fit it it???
also i have 8-8-8 nutes that i bought and was wondering if this was alright for now... i plan on buying some clones from the local herb guy...lmao
and also could i possibly grow 2 plants in the one rubbermaid container or would there be a big chance of roots binding to one another???

any other help would help A LOT!!!!!!
PEACE FROM WHITE :peace:MARLEY:peace:!!:joint:

as of for the the nute number i dont know shit bout them. i use BC boost, BC grow, thrive alive b1 red, awesome blossom, magical, sugar daddy, and hygrozeme. i have a 17 gal rubber made bin. i put my seedlings in those starter plugs that are made of coconut hair and some other shit. then i had a water pump with a 1/4" hose that i use with tee connectors (i have 4 plants in mine) and made a drip feed set up untill there roots where hanging down below the net pots.

yea you can put more then one plant in ur bin but the roots will tangle. my next idea for my next attempt was gonna be taking window screen the nylon kind an making little pouches so the roots wont tangle.

oh and dont forget your air stones/bars and a 30-50 gallon air pump

thnx...
i kno theres not much care needed for this system but do u kno how i would have to care for it???
and also how di u make the drip system??? im tryin to not spend a lot of money cause im on a tight budget and besides im only growin for personal use...

Rubbermaid- $6-10
bubble wands- $5 a piece
Tubing -$1-4 (black is best) *petco*
60 gallon air pump~ $18-25 (30 gal minimun) *petco*
Small aquarium/fountain water pump-$10-25 (comes with 1/2 x1/4 hose adapterfor drip feed)
Some T connectors- $1 or 2 for a bunch
Net pots- $1.60each 6"
Hydroton(clay balls)- $10 for a giant bag
small stick on thermometer~ 1$

only thing is change nutes every week to week and a half 2 weeks max check ph daily if possible wouldnt let past more then 3 days without checking.

ummmm hope i answered all you questions heres a few pics to help you set up your cheap DWC drip feed combo system. the drip feed is like a aero system for the 1st month. and you can fill the water a few inches to the bottom of the net pots as long as you have the air stones your shit wont drown. ill keep an eye on this tread incase you have more ?s

thnx very much...
should i make an enclosed space for this??? or if its out int the open in my room would it be ok??? im gonna be growin either ducks foot aK47 or some viking...
wat would be best to with for this system... and 1 more thing, can i use the lst method on a clone???

just out of curiosity how would i do this if i used a 5gal bucket???
ive been thinkin tha i was gonna try out 1 plant in a 5gal bucket and see how it does...
any suggestions??? thnx a lot!!

i have seen it in 5 gal buckets an thats a great idea cause if you have a male and wanna keep him for breading easy to seperate.. from what i seen i believe its 2 5 gallon buckets stacked on each other bottom bucket has pump and water in it and the top bucket holds the plant just like the lid to the rubber made bin(theres a cover on the top 5 gal bucket).

and im gonna use the rubbermaid bin idea for cloning but its called a "power cloner" its an aero setup. i use the pump to fill 3/4 pvc tubes and drill 1/4 spray heads in the pvc and have it on a timer for misting the clones.. shit works the tits

im a lil confuzed...
do i jus need the water and nute solution in the bucket with a old fish tank pump with 2 airstone with the water/nute mix like an inch up the bottom of the net cup??? or do i need a pump to pump the water directly in the net cup???
havent built this yet but want everthing to go smooth... i dont want to mess this up... bout how long should i veg and flower from bagseed???:peace::joint:

you can just set them into the net pots an hand water them with a spray bottle till roots are just slightly touching the water or you can get a pump like i did and have a drip feed system.

just take nutes and mix the water put in your bucket or bin and cut in your net pots in the top of you bucket or bin. add your water and nute mix and airs stones and thats it..

the 1st pics i showed you where dwc/drip feed.. the clear 1/4 hoses that goto each net pot are hose attached to the pump that i manualy turned on to feed untill the roots hitting the water.. if you look at the top pic to the right where it shows the root just outta the net pot an you can see a pencil thickness of water coming down.. thats the drip feed.

theres a fitting that comes with the hydro pump that lets u adapt the 1/4 hose to the pump for the drip feed option. and as the roots hit the water i justcheck my ph everyday to make sure the ph is at 5.8-6.2. and that simple.

but no you do not need a water pump

thank you a lot!!!!!
jus out of curiosity do u kjnbo were i can find a setup that is in a bucket??? jus so i can see wat it should look like??? no big deal...

wat size net should be good for this??? and also wat r some cheap but good nutes??? or wat ones do u use and how much r they??? on a real tight budget no job...lmao

i dont have a link for the bucket set up but its the 2nd more popular dwc that ive seen.

i use a mix of chem and organic nutes( only one is chem from what i researched could be wrong). i use the technaflora series, you can get a 19.99 starter kit of bc boost,bc grow,bc bloom, thrive alive b1 red and green, rooting gel awesome blossom. pretty solid kit for 20 bux

only thing you needa buy is the sugar daddy and magical.. i def recommend getting the magical. those are about 20 bux a bottle.

and last nute i use is hygrozyme. Hygrozyme prevents the formation of pythium and algae in your growing media. Bacteria-free enzymes attack dead plant proteins and convert them into usable sugars.

thnx...
any other advice would help...wat size cfl light should i use???:peace:

for starting your seedlings get 6500k spectrum daylight 100 watt equivalent cfls (23 watt actual). id get 2 per plant and that stage of growing. then as time goes add more lighting where it looks like the cfls arent really getting to the plant.
you do need a good amount of cfls for the plants at later stages i recommend getting sunleaves fluorescents there 4 54 watt fluorescents if you want to use a low heat signature lighting setup. best to have lights 2-4 inches from plants.

hps is best since it is a HID style lighting and the light spectrum 2100k which is really good for flowering (MH is best for vegging) but does get really hot especially in tight locations.

heres a light comparison chart for helping your decision on picking out what type of lighting you wanna use.

just found a cut out pic on how to make the 5 gal bucket DWC.. hope it helps
