first time growing, need seed suggestions!

first off, i've been reading this board for the past few days & i've gathered way more knowledge on growing than i had in the previous weeks of reading pages, talking to people..etc. - everyone here seems to really know their shit and i'm a lot more confident about getting into this now, just based on everything i've gotten off of this forum.

with that said, i'm torn in regards to which strain i want to grow first & a bit weary of ending up with someone thats really difficult to grow. i was hoping that someone here could point out something that i could handle.

i'm going to be growing in a 3.7ft x 3.7ft x6.7ft space (dr120) with a 600w hps light.

i'm looking for sativa strain, the stronger the better - hopefully with fruity/tropical tastes. i've been told that sativa is a hard plant to grow but i think that with thorough reading & advice from this forum i'll be able to pull it off.

thanks a lot, i'm really looking forward to getting started & rest assured that i'll be posting about it!

sounds like a good plan. Sativas take longer to flower so you will have a longer wait to smoke your weed. As long as you keep that in mind you will be fine.
Good luck. :)

i'd go with a hybrid, with a six foot limit a sativa might feel kinda cramped

cant i just flower early and avoid them getting too tall? i was also reading that you can cut the top of the plant to make it split.

also, i'll be growing in soil-less mix so they wont get as big to begin with.

do you still think this is a bad idea?

i think i want to grow grapefruit, but i'll have to wait for female seeds to get in their shipment.

PLEASE, let me know if you still think this is a bad idea & maybe suggest something that would do well in this environment, hopfully leaning as far to the sativa side as possible - thanks!

topping would help a little but even if you flowered a mostly sativa at one foot or so it would get 5 ft and up wards( with ampe lighting); even with topping you would just get a much bushier still very tall plant, but i'm perdy sure grapefruit is a hybrid tho right? you should be fine as long as you enjoy what your doing and learning,

yeah, it is. heres with female seeds says about it -

For those who like it sweet !
A new style sativa; early maturing, fast flowering and maximum yielding. Buds have a soft smell of grapefruit, sweet taste and intense tropical high. This is a 75% C’99 x 25% strong fruity sativa, stabilised on early maturity for some generations now. Plants grow up to 50 to 60 cm, when put under 12/12 hrs after one week of germination. This one is still undergoing an stability-program, although with 80% being winners not a bad choice. Our test results for batch # FS-GF-0503: no males or male flowers found.

does that mean that its 75% cinderella 99 & 25% of an unknown sativa strain ?

should i flower before they reach 2feet?

thanks again for all the advice, i'm extremely thankful to have someone to just bounce these questions off of.

defenitly before two feet. in there descrition there talking about flowering at a few inches and they'll get two feet, which seems weird to me I'd wait a little longer on the veg and just prune the fuck out of it to keep it a resonable height

thanks a lot, i'll take your advice.

once i prune though, i'll have to wait another week or 2 before i can bloom though, right? so the plant can recover?
