Hi guys, need a bit of advice with my seedlings. 3 Barney farm blue cheese and 2 Afghan kush freebies. Germinated in paper towel for 2 days then put into party cups with wetlands Jack magic + perlite, sprouted from soil in 2 days. I bought the soil which was stored outside at homebase.. I probably should of dried the soil first but Instead i planted them anyway. . It seems abit lumpy.. will this slow the growth ? Currently got them under 125w red cfl (all i have at the moment) will be getting 250w MH in the week f or veg then will flower under 400w hps. Will upload pic do they look ok for 2 days old? I havent watered as the soil is still quite moist all the way through Cheers !

Put a fan in the room, not blowing on them tho.

Dehumidifier might help.

Id just let them go, next time you pot up breakup your soil really well and dont over water . More aeration helps with this.

Like garden pumice, or smashed up clay balls,

Thanks for your reply.. got a small fan in there now. When you say "you would let them go" do u mean let em grow or throw them? I'm.guessing I'll just have slow growth until the medium dries out?

Sorry i mean keep them alive and growing .A little more lights, or fan, or dehumidifier might help dry your soil a bit.

I mean next time you put your plant into its bigger pot, add some more aeration so the soil wont stay so wet for so long . Yaknow:)

I'll have the 250w mh towards the end of the week.. will that be OK as long as I keep it raised high?

The 250 should be fine for the whole veg stage, if you are growing all 5 seeds and keeping all 5 you will need more than 400w for flower.

So 1 week after sprouting soil they now look like this, does growth seen Ok? Growing 2nd set of true leaves. Temp is steady at 27c
Yeah man those seedlings are looking very healthy, not even stretching too much so you have the light at the perfect distance. Give it 3-7 more days then transplant them into proper containers. Not sure how much space you're working with but I suggest 5 gallon containers because it gives plenty of room for root growth. If 5 gallons won't fit, aim for 2gal/3gal containers.

Thanks for reply. Currently in a 80x80x160 cm tent.. might struggle for space but its all I got.. Didn't expect all 5 seeds to germ lol

That's a lot of plants for such a small space. You can do it though, but you'll need to top/FIM the plants as soon as you can. ImI currently growing 4 plants in a similar sized tent and it becomes very crowded once they hit 2 ft in height.

Decided to go with 6.5litre square pots & do some LST. Or do 1 plant in 11litre in the centre with 4 6.5 litre around it

Topped them all a few days ago and each has 2 new shoots :) using biobizz grow nutes at 2ml per litre of water. Also tied them Down a bit for better light penetration. Gonna leave for another 10 - 12 days then will switch to flower.

They're looking very healthy. But switching to flowering that soon? In my opinion you should let them veg longer otherwise you'll get a miniscule harvest.

How l0ng would you suggest to veg in 6.5l pots ? Any idea what average harvest for these size pots with 400w hps when i switch to flower? Still using 250w mh for now
