First Time Grower

This is my first post at OpenDNS and my frist time growing.

I would like to thank anyone for their help ahead of time.

I planted these about 2 weeks ago, give or take 1-2 days. My situation is simply this. I have no money to make any purchases for special soils/fertilizers, lights, or equipment. All I have is my two pots & one lamp, the first pot being ceramic/clay, and the second one being plastic. The soils in them are unknown, but are different from one another. I only have one Fertilizer (Miracle-Gro - Water Soluble Bloom Booster Flower Food)

There are 5 specimen in my clay/ceramic pot, and one specimen in the plastic pot which was planted yesterday 02/29/08.
I have no idea what strains the seeds/plants are, since they were given to me by a friend.

My light is a General Electric Gro-N-Show w/ 65W 120V Fluorescent Bulb, that I haven't used since my 5th grade science project.

Details
Location - Closet
Light - GE "Gro-N-Show" w/ 65W 120V Fluorescent Bulb
Pot 1 - Ceramic/Clay (5 specimen) (stabilized with toothpicks)
Pot 2 - Plastic (1 specimen)
Soil 1 - Unknown
Soil 2 - Unknown
Strain(s) - Unknown
Fertilizer - Miracle-Gro "Water Soluble Bloom Booster Flower Food"

I was wondering if anyone could determine the soil type or strain for me by looking at the pictures. And any possible tips or tricks would be appreciated.

Ok, Thank you 40acres, I took a picture of my extremely basic setup, and repositioned the lamp, tell me what you think, if its too close or not close enough, the lamp does get pretty warm. Thank you in advanced!

Edit: I also have a fan blowing on it lightly from about 4 ft away, in attempt to strengthen the stems (not sure if this works, heard it from a few people.)

Thank you felthustler, it was my very first plant transplant of any kind. I put them each into individual pots I acquired through a friend. Unfortunatley one of the plants didn't make it, due to being very fragile. Sadly they look like they might die soon, maybe I'm wrong, I'll let you guys judge. Appreciate it!

Replant them up to thier bottom leaves. keep the lights as close as you can without burning your plants. Go to dollar general and get some cheap dirt, a small cfl of any kind, and an outdoor light cord for 2.00. Menards has them on sale right now. you can do this for under 10.00. If you ned veg nutes, walmart has fish excrement for 6.49 and it won't burn your plants. If you can't afford this, get your light you have as CLOSE as you can. Plant looks good other than the stretching.

Beware however the fish stuff smells like rancid vomit. But does work well safely, and yeah hes correct you can save them if you replant them just make sure that light is at three to six inches off your plants or they'll continue to stretch as these did.
